Hello, I'm here with all you need to learn to play the new next-level bounty hunter hero, reworked by the powerful DotA2 engine. Every time I read any guide on Bounty Hunter, they appear outdated and unfit to the new DotA2 meta. This guide attempts to solve this problem by maximizing many of the sought after attributes of Bounty Hunter in the current Metagame.
This is a highly specialized single description of a next level build, there are guides on more boring builds that can be found elsewhere. Like here + Show Spoiler +
When the hunted tell tales of Gondar the Bounty Hunter, none are sure of which are true. In whispered tones they say he was abandoned as a kid, learning his skill in tracking as a matter of simple survival. Others hear he was an orphan of war, taken in by the great Soruq the Hunter to learn the master's skill with a blade as they plumbed the dark forests for big game. Still others believe he was a lowly street urchin raised among a guild of cutpurses and thieves, trained in the arts of stealth and misdirection. Around campfires in the wild countryside his quarry speaks the rumors of Gondar's work, growing ever more fearful: they say it was he who tracked down the tyrant King Goff years after the mad regent went into hiding, delivering his head and scepter as proof. That it was he who infiltrated the rebel camps at Highseat, finally bringing the legendary thief White Cape to be judged for his crimes. And that it was he who ended the career of Soruq the Hunter, condemned as a criminal for killing the Prince's prized hellkite. The tales of Gondar's incredible skill stretch on, with each daring feat more unbelievable than the last, each target more elusive. For the right price, the hunted know, anyone can be found. For the right price, even the mightiest may find fear in the shadows.
Stats 17+1.8 21+3 19+1.4 315 ms 5.94 armor 24-38 base dmg
Fantastic Agi and Below Average Str and Int Stats, Bounty hunter will have high damage but lack for HP and Mana
Shuriken Toss Throws a Ninja Star and ministuns, its important to note that the damage scaling for levels 1-2 is far better than lv 3
Jinada The crux of Bounty Hunter's abilities, it gives damage and a slow and guarantees a critical hit
Shadow Walk This makes you invisible, note than you need lv2 to reliably remain invisible and that the bonus damage does not crit with Jinada
Track You get true sight of the target, increased movement speed, and armor reduction as well as extra gold, keep in mind that this is castable on magic immune units
II. The Build Starting Items Any mixture of Buckler, Health Regen, and GG braches is fine, true DotA is not confined such that you have to start the same way. For example, if you somehow end up in the safe lane, you would probably need less regen than if you were soloing sucide
Laning Pretty standard kit, keep in mind that TP is paramount on Bounty Hunter as assisting other lanes pays off far better for him and the team than for most heroes
Boots OR Either boots are fine, you generally get Tranquil is you're under pressure or Phase if you're doing well and don't need the sustain
Core Lets do some math, lothars adds (30 + 150) * 2.25 = 405 Damage for 3000 Gold Desolator adds (60) * 2.25 = 135 damage + around 30% bonus to your about 1000 effective damage at that point in the game = 435 Damage (scaling into lategame) for 4300 gold
These numbers are far superior to everything else
Late Game Each Rapier Adds (300)*2.25 = 675 damage for 6200 gold, while this is slightly inferior, ratio wise, to the boosts provided by Lothars and Deso, they are the best out of remaining obtainable items
It's been brought to my attention that Divine Rapier has a 92% winrate on BH, therefore obtaining a pair should yield 184% winrate.
Optional Items ->
Basi provides decent mana regen and overall stats while Vlads gives you sustainability, these are good items when being able to constantly remain in the field is important. Jango is a good item overall but perhaps a bit weak on Bounty Hunter because with Track + Lothars you already have haste, and the +18 damage ratio is fairly poor Medalion is an easy way to add some additional damage and mana regeneration, the main problem is that it gives the target prior warning and is inferior damage wise to lothars and only slightly better than Deso
Bkb is for tryhards
Early Game Skill Build WW,Jinada,WW,Shuriken, Shuriken, Track This build hits optimal scaling points for all skills, as stated earlier, two levels of Windwalk allows you to be constantly WW'd while two levels of Shuriken Toss offers great early game damage, feel free to take Shuriken at lvs 3-4 instead if you feel like you'll get more chances to kill in lane
Mid Game Skill Build Jinada, Jinada, Jinada, Shuriken, Track, Shuriken You want to max Jinada here so you can coincide getting your lothars with lv 3-4 Jinada for the same damage as a Shotgun morphling for a fraction of the price (TM), and Shuriken completes the burst while getting more in WW feels like a bit of a waste
Late Game Skill Build Should be Obvious
III.How is can Play Laning When you are soloing the offlane, the key is constantly checking and considering the aggression level and inventory of the opposing team, start out hidden until you see the enemy come to lane. Make sure that none of them have wards before proceeding to the creepwave. As with all solo-offlanes, try to get as much exp/last hits while not dying, caution is always the better part of valor and every death delays that sweet moments of vengeance that you seek, with BH, it is highly possible to remain in exp range and out of ward range (should they get wards), it is also quite possible to last hit enemy jungle pulls with WW+Jinada, as long as you are careful.
If you're in a different lane or is soloing, feel free to do whatever while you farm because after all, invisibility = invincibility amirite~.+ Show Spoiler +
Ganking You can rotate out of your lane quite easily once you get to level 6 (or before that if you're heavily pressured), with a simple ww opener -> track -> shuriken you deal significant damage and make it extremely easy to score successful ganks, remember that on Bounty Hunter FARMING HEROES GIVES YOU MORE GOLD THAN FARMING CREEPS
Lothars Once you obtain your lothars your mobility, survivability, and killing potential increases by a factor more than Double (approximately). You are no longer shackled by the 15 second cooldown of just one invisibility and is able to run like the wind, obtaining haste with lothars + track. Remember that you are also no longer afraid of silence because you have lothars.
Approximate damage output at lv 11 you should have around base 100 damage, add to this the lothars bonus of 423, we get 225+423 = ~650 Physical damage on a single hit, keep in mind that this is obviously reduced by armor and can be augmented by track.
Approach with WW -> Attack + track + Shuriken -> lothars -> wait 6 seconds -> boom headshot This is the most standard mode of attack to the average target, as it will seem no different the first time to any other attempts at harassment, it will hurt but the enemy will not feel his life is threatened. Then suddenly a red 500 and you score yourself a large amount of gold
Lothars -> Attack -> Track -> Shuriken This is the most simplistic method and will appear the most clean, however you will have to math
Track -> Lothars -> Attack -> Shuriken, This will give marginally higher damage and allow you to close with the target faster, the obvious drawback is that they will have prior warning.
Teamfights As with "standard" builds, your general mode of operations in a teamfight is to track as many targets as possible and to pick off stragglers. However, with lothars, you're killing power vastly increases and can often allow you to initate on a target with your heavy burst or to simply cut down a member of the enemy back row. Keep close tabs on enemy inventory to find the targets with detection and prioritize them over other targets. With both WW and Lothars you will also be able to remain invisible longer and contribute more heavy jinada hits than normal
Late Game Once you obtain Deso, you will be able to instagib most supports via either the second or third method above, one of the few drawbacks of this build is that oftentimes hitting them once will kill them, denying yourself of the track gold, a remedy for that can be.
WW next to them -> Track -> Lothars -> Strike -> Shuriken if needed
After Deso, you are also able to solo roshan with a vlads, should you feel less than manly and decline to go straight rapier
With Rapier you one shot everything, so just be careful choosing your targets and you will have infinite money.
IV. Replays and Testimonials
Some top NA pro using it against some European team who've apparently won dreamhack at some point in some tourney, seems legit, maybe.
People often complain things like "this is too hard", or "This doesn't work at my low/medium/high" skill level Obviously posting my own replays could lead to accusations of "OMG STAGED", "OMG THE ONLY TIMES IT WORKS"
I assure you that this build is extremely easy to learn. Even somebody as inept as our resident Liquidpedia bot Blahz0r was able to pick it up and dominate with it in "Very High MMR" in just two short games. He had randomly BH the first time and was able to learn during the game, enjoying the build so much that he decided to pick it next game.
I will put valid discussion quotations here should they arise

also you can stack shadow blade+wind walk. its more efficient that way. Korok, TC and I have been testing out different shit to utilize lothars with. the item is honestly extremely overpowered atm.
meh, it can be useful, but its easier to just go lothars -> hit -> ww -> hit again

He's right note: Thunderhammer has a negative ratio because when you have above 1000 dmg, the fact that there's a 25% chance of deso not procing (thunder) actually means that MATHAMATICALLY REDUCES DAMAGE

I don't really agree, it's overkill. You'll die if you go in a bad situation and lose 2 rapiers, and if you pick a single person off you can kill him without the rapiers.

So I try this and first game go 27-3. Died with Rapier but it's pretty easy to oneshot to get it back as well etc
Objectively speaking the Rapiers are probably a bit risky, but this is a ton of fun and I'd say playing like this improves positioning and such because you die in 0.1s if you get caught.

Do you recommend Mjollnir on this hero? Thunderhammer is the best DPS item, but I guess since you want single target damage, this doesn't help as much as others.
Venture Capital is better off spent on lottery tickets rather than investing in E-Sports; you'll get a far better return. The difference is simple: Koreans are tryharding at the game, foreigners are tryharding in real-life.
