IGN Pro League is thrilled to bring you the second iteration of the GSL World Championship LIVE from IPL5 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas! The GSL World Championship will have the best players from South Korea duking it out against seven of the best players from the rest of the world. The GSL World Championship will be played across multiple days with both Pro League format and Winners League format aspects.
GOMTV has already invited two foreigners to represent the World All Stars:  Naniwa and  EG.Stephano!
We will need your help to determine the other five players, with three coming from Europe and two coming from the North America / South America / SEA regions combined.
Basically, we have constructed two polls, one for Europe and one for the NA/SA/SEA regions. The top 16 vote-getters of each poll will play in a separate single-elimination, bo3 qualifier tournament for a chance to play at the World Championship in Las Vegas on November 29th - December 2nd. The top two European qualifiers will move on to join the World All Stars, and the top NA/SA/SEA qualifier will join as well making a total of five players. Every member of the World All Stars will receive free flights and hotel stays to IPL5, as well as entry into the IPL5 Main Tournament.

Dates for the World All Star Qualifiers are still being decided, but will likely be scheduled during two weeks in October.
Please vote and spread the word! Polls close at midnight Pacific on Sunday, September 23, so get them in as quickly as you can!

Such a random poll. You have someone like Fuzer, but not a national champion of Ukraine like Bly. You have Hawk as EU.
Apart from the fact that this is something which is stupid to decide by votes because a lot of people don't know much about players and just vote for the ones they know and like or for those who stream a lot.
I voted Nerchio, Lucifron, Titan because I'd like to see them play, because they're kinda good, because it'd be racially balanced and because I think they might have a shot. But I guess it's somewhat hopeless since Titan is stuck at two votes. D:
Sen and Scarlett for NA/SEA/TW, I don't have much hope for anyone else. I don't know at all how good Sen is atm, but he shouldn't be much worse than the others.Last edit: 2012-09-18 06:56:55 |
