I have been playing SC2 a month after it's release, starting in bronze and now placed into masters playing protoss on NA. I think I am an example that you can get good at Starcraft II by watching streams and streams such as day9 to increase your skill.
But that being said I still want to improve my play! :D I will be streaming mostly ladder and occasionally trolling around with some friends on skype playing customs, or other games like warcraft or league.
Another reason I want to stream is I can always use some tips to improve my game. Feel free to give me some constructive criticism in chat.
