| This whole thing has made me respect EG much more. They seem to be handling this professionally. Sure there are going to be egotistical pro gamers who think its "cool" to make stupid jokes like this from time to time. At least there is a gaming organization trying to have an image at a higher standard then these degenerates. If stuff like this goes unchallenged or unpunished then SC2 community turns into a COD community |

This is the drama thread where literally hundreds of people gather together to agree that none of them have a sense of humor while simultaneously agreeing that they are entitled to comment and form opinions on other peoples private conversations. Why people want to "grow esports" and grow the "community" when the only change you will see is a thread like this getting thousands of posts instead of hundreds, is beyond me. |

How many other people are scared about the fact that Reddit has as much influence over StarCraft's community as it does?
It terrifies the hell out of me that a ton of Reddit people can band together, despite no prior interest or connection to StarCraft 2, and proceed to influence it.

With the state of SC2, how HotS is coming along, and Blizzard's decisions over the past year, I'm not surprised LoL is doing better at all. In fact, I think LoL deserves it at this point.

The fun part is when he pretends he is a sexual predator because he committed a statuory rape.
It is funny because, you know, there is a world between the two things, and nearly everyone down earth realizes that. Hell, even the wikipedia entry on statuory rape is very clear about the fact that the law is not intended to prevent to teenager to have sex together.
It is very hard to follow the discussion here, we don't know what is really the problem : that he (probably) had sex with an underage girl ? That he bragged about it ? Or that he made a joke exagerating the fact and posing as a pedophile ? |

The joke is that the community will take anything said by their favorite player as a joke in hindsight to cover up a crude remark. |

I'm more concerned that in the rush towards professionalism so many teams are now stamping out the defining attributes of players and esports - he clearly did not rape a 14 year old, its reminiscent of the sort of complete over-reaction you too often see from nanny-state western media outlets.
I cant imagine myself enjoying esports without the bm and the joking around, call me old fashioned, but its part of the charm
