but I feel the 7 gate blink hits too late for it to do anything effective. I mean, 8 minute twilight council. No blink for about another 1 or minute and a half. :<

Notes On The Zealot/Sentry Attack You should do these things: When you move out to attack the Zerg, take the 2 Sentries with the most energy with you and leave the 2 Sentries with the least energy blocking your ramp. This gives you the ability to use more Force Fields whilst attacking the Zerg player. Move out with 2 sentries and leave two at home. ^^

This hits around 8:00, has 38 drones on 2 bases behind it (with a 3rd building), and hits with 9 roaches and 20ish speedlings. Your build's push happens to leave at a point where you'll meet the zerg's army in the middle of the map (and get crushed) with only 4 sentries left at home (6 FFs, with 10 available within the next 40 seconds). Even if you leave your zealots at home and don't push out, with no cannons (and especially on a map without a ramp) It's going to be really, really hard to keep zerg out. Am I wrong? Do you happen to have a replay against a build like this?

At least, this is how I read it.

I've noticed that you really like openings similar to those used back in 2010 (gateway expands in PvZ and 2 gate robo in PvT). Is that because you have more experience with those builds, or do you think they are superior to the newer openings in some way?

First of all, you didn't execute the same Zealot/Sentry opening that is outlined in the OP, and this is really important because how you went about your Zealot/Sentry pressure probably lost you the game. What you did is to go up to 3 Gateways before pressuring with Zealots and Sentries, which meant that your attack was moving out at ~7:30 instead of hitting at ~7:30. This meant that you gave the opponent enough time to build up a Roach/Ling army large enough to kill your attacking force fairly cost-efficiently, even if you did manage to snipe a Hatchery. If you had hit at the timing that I suggest in the OP, you would've forced a cancel on the Hatchery and been able to retreat back home before Roaches were out on the field! Other mistakes include your Nexus being 300 minerals late, your Twilight Council being over a minute late, and your Blink research not starting immediately after the Twilight Council finished. All of this meant that your Blink Stalker attack didn't commence until the Zerg had managed to secure themselves a decent Roach/Infestor army, which gave your opponent a compositional advantage. I don't ladder much, but I'm not Diamond. Sorry to disappoint you. Oh ok. No, not disappointed at all!
