We at the IPL are looking for our next full time StarCraft 2 caster, and we want to make the application process an exciting one! We are going to select 16 finalists out of our pool of applicants who will compete in successive rounds to determine, ultimately, who will receive a spot casting at IPL5 in Las Vegas and a full time job with the IGN ProLeague.
If you would like to apply, there’s a few things you have to do. First, we need a resume and an example of your work sent to IPLCasters@ign.com. Please include the following information in the email:
1.) An updated resume that contains your previous broadcast work along with standard resume material (including but not limited to your previous work experience, education, etc.).
2.) A link to one (1) game that you’ve casted in the past (representative of your best work).
3.) A short, one paragraph biography of your history with eSports.
4.) A high resolution image of yourself (preferably a headshot) to be used for promotional purposes if you become a finalist in our competition.
You must have your application in by 11:59 PM Pacific on October 31st, 2012. We will announce the top 16 applicants on November 2nd, 2012. The top 16 will then be asked to submit a new video to the IPL (with a bit of a challenge thrown in!) by November 5th, 2012. The public will then be allowed to view the videos and vote on who they would like to see in the top 8 of the process. While public voting is important to our consideration, it will not be the sole factor in determining who advances and the decision ultimately rests with us.
The top 8 will then have to complete another challenge by November 9th, 2012, by sending in another video. Again, the public will vote and we will choose the top 4 on November 12th, 2012. The top 4 contestants will then be flown out to cast a round of IPL matches alongside Kevin Knocke at IPL5 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. There, they will be interviewed by the IGN team and the community will vote again.
The winner will be announced on December 2nd, 2012 live on stage at IPL5. There, they will cast a semifinal match of IPL5 and be given a full time job offer with the IGN ProLeague.

Please hire Orb. I was kind of hoping this would be to replace CatsPajamas to be honest...it's really hard to watch NASL or IEM and then try to watch IPL without wanting to jab a fork in your own ear drum atm. :-/

I think catspajamas is pretty good right now. I used to not like him as much but for a while now I think he's been really good.

Yeah he is very good. If IPL decides to fire Cats I would rage so hard

im surprised to see this. i think cats is really good and i enjoy watching him cast ipl, especially when doa was with him.
CatsPajamas is really good and as a play-by-play guy, he ranks up there with the best of them. IMO, I problem I feel IPL suffers from is the serious lack of good analytical content. They kinda got away with it pairing Doa/Cats because there was a good dynamic between the two, but now I feel like IPL casts are just 90% CP's play-by-plays with random commentaries.
I really hope for the best with IPL as I enjoyed their past content, but NASL really one-upped them with Bitterdam and the much improved Frodan/Gretorp.
i think kevin knocke is about 10 times better than orb. orb is rly annoying, speaks way too fast and he overanalyzes A LOT. kevin knocke is in my opinion the best play-by-play caster there is. i personally dislike total biscuit (arrogant and making too many mistakes about the game itself) and tasteless is like... the HT without energy that mophs into the archon with artosis.
