Countering 8/10 rax on R-Point

Edit: Sorry wrong topic,its about 8 rax and not 8/10.

How do you stop a build where the Terran goes 8 rax,builds up 4 marines,then adds some scv and is going to bunker rush you.
Especially on R-Point the distance (ofc not cross positions) if your opponent is right or left from you (10/2 or 8/4) is very short.
Its hard to scout 8 rax because you dont get your drone into his main if he already has 1 rine or a scv blocking,i scouted it as he moved out with his 4 marines.
In my case positions were 8/4 and I 12 hatched above the choke , after scouting his rush i did send 3-4 drones and threw down 2 sunkens but they got heavily damaged and died at the same time my first 6 lings arrived,he got his bunker up but finally a 3rd sunken and drone+ling killed his rush.Of course i was way behind economy-wise,after that he just builds a fast 2nd CC,and i didnt even had my 3rd hatch up because my economy got damaged heavily.
I thought of following solutions after scouting his early 4 marines + scv:
1. Send more drones,like 7-8 i guess many of them would be killed with proper micro so i dont know if ts a good solution.
2.9 hatch at the top of the choke and not 12.If T sees this he can just add a fast 2nd CC and you're behind economically again.
3.Just go 12 pool if you scout the Terran beeing right (or left) from your base,then either build the 2rd hatch above of your choke or at your natural but i dont know if you can defend it this way.
4.Just scout next position with drone at 6 supply but if he still 8 raxes what then?

Basically the problem is that Terran has always the option to just add a 2nd CC and not move out of his base while you have to chose a build to defend the possibe 8 rax rush and so you're already behind economically.You're also behind if he actually moves out and can do enough damage even if you have chosen a counter build.-_-

honestly, 12 hatch and grind it out. You'll get better and better at it and eventually you wont care about 8 rax anymore. At least from players of equal skill.

midian and tomson talked about going 9 pool or 9 pool after overlord into 3 hatch.

guys this is different from the other 8 rax threads. 8 rax on rpoint is really gay and hard to counter if you 12 hatch.
what the fuck do you have to say for yourself now you protoss jackass can you retaliate in any way

Oh, I didn't realize it was any different because I don't often hatch first. Lately I'm doing alot of 11 or 12 pool and it has been EXTREMELY effective early on without much sacrifice in eco.

I usually do ...

9 ovie
11 pool
11 hach @ expo
wait for larvae...
10-13 lings
14 drone
as soon as 14 drone pops make 3rd hatch...

this build works really well vs P but I've found it all but stops T from even trying to bunk rush you ( they are too busy worrying about the early lings). In fact, because the T usually bunch their rines at their own ramp in response to seeing the 3 saved larvae, I bet you could morph 2 drones and 1 pair of lings to get you an even stronger eco early. I haven't tried this trick, but seeing as how EVERY time I play a T and do this build they bunch rines/scvs at their ramp, I bet it would work.

To me the only downside to this build is that it techs a little slow, but if you scout a tech build I suppose you could just get gas @ both main and nat to catch up.

Send your overlord up/down, 9scout drone left/right - you will discover the 8rax, if he's left/right of you.
Then just counter.

Basically, when playing ladders such as pgt, I usually do 12pool, because of many terrans counting on a easy, fast win. Rape the shit out of them. GL.

if you send your overlord into a terran base on rpoint you're going to lose it.

at most you'll be able to drone scout it or see multiple scouting scvs and marines coming towards your base with your first overlord that should be set up on one of the islands in the middle.

trey5 im not sure about the specifics of that pool first build vs terran, but im pretty sure it'll put you way behind a terran, which is why no one does it constantly at a high level. the only build its any good against is 8 rax. its disadvantageous vs fast gas, fast expo, and a standard 2 rax acad build. i think you should start 12 hatching and practice drone micro vs an 8 rax.

some theorycrafting, but i think a 2 rax acad into CC build would rape an 11 pool into 3 hatch build. your nat hatch is much, much slower, therefore slowing down your early drone count and your ability to make enough sunken colonies vs the early pressure of 2 rax acad. while you're frantically making sunkens and lings to prevent from being run over (remember you're down a few larvae as well), the terran can safely take his expo and outmacro you through the midgame.

9 scout to horizontal positions and 12 pool if you see 8 rax, otherwise 12 hat and pull 7~ drones to delay/kill rines/hit bunkier building scv if you see 8 rax while saving larvae for lings. beyond that its a matter of micro.

You may be right, but I wouldn't know because I'm not very good = |

I just know that this build has stopped me from getting bunk rushed and I seem to do fine through the rest of the game. Maybe I just haven't played a T who decided to take advantage of my weaker eco.

11pool into 2 hatch is very good.. I dont know how to beat the rush when going hatch-pool build however, I just die if he's doing his stuff badass..

There was a 11pool discussion after some guy read out a buildorder from Julyzerg (searchfunction) and the specifics are to be found there..

As someone said it's not as good as hatch-pool but maybe it's better if you constantly die to 8rax..

hm, trey5 what level do you play at? it might just be that the terrans aren't good enough to take advantage of your weaker eco and lost larvae.

but then i dunno, im not great either. maybe a better zerg would say something different.

i know 9 pool is a often used strategy zvt on pro levle

i went through a dozen old threads and i think i figured out part of my problem..one person said sunkens were not the way to go and that you shouldn't attempt them..and i think they are right...build time is too slow..even if they pop they get owned by the scvs to near death..and take all the money that could have gone to lings. however, you don't have the forces to attack..so the only thing to do is stall till your ling count is higher..however, 3 rines in the bunker seem unbeatable in time...so i think my problem is that i was so focused on getting the first 3 rines that i lost too many drones..i think i would have been better off taking the 1 free rine i was given..and then going past and preventing further rines from getting there...2 rines in the bunker is pretty bad..but sometimes if they have good micro even with using drills to bypass the scvs blocking for the rines it can be difficult to snipe two rines before the bunker finishes....but yeah for now i will try sniping 1 rine and then going past unless they terran doesn't block very well
