Tournament Rules
General Info: The tournament will be a 1v1 Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty tournament, run on the North America server. A maximum of 128 competitors will be allowed to enter, each of whom must bring their own computer and have a Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty account that is playable on the North America server.
- Bring all your own equipment - we do not have equipment available to use on-site.
- All games will be 1v1; casters may join games in the final rounds as observers.
- All games will be played on speed faster.
- Save the replays of every game you play - they may be needed for review, proof of victory, analysis in the case of a disconnect, or for other unforeseen reasons.
Tournament Structure
- Pool Play: The 128 players will be divided into 16 pools or 8 players each. Each player will play a BO1 versus each of the other players in his/her pool (for a total of 7 games). The top 3 players in each pool will advance to the next stage. Pool play should be completed on Saturday.
- Double Elimination Bracket: The remaining 48 players will be seeded into a double elimination bracket (no extended series this year) based upon their performance in pool play. This means that the winner of each pool will receive a first round bye in the bracket stage. Excluding the finals, all rounds will be BO3. The first couple rounds of bracket play will start on Saturday, the rest will be completed on Sunday.
- Finals: The finals will be a BO7 series with the player from the winners' bracket starting up 2-0 versus the player from the losers' bracket. The finals will be casted live by MrBitter and Frodan! They are scheduled for 5pm on Sunday evening.
Map Pool: We will be using MLG/GSL versions of each map.
1) Antiga Shipyard
2) Ohana
3) Whirlwind
4) Daybreak
5) Entombed Valley
6) Cloud Kingdom
7) Abyssal City
Map Selection Process
- Pool Play: The maps shall be played through in order, each of the 7 rounds having a corresponding map.
- Bracket Play: Each round shall be assigned a starting map. Upon completion of a game, the looser selects the next map.
Race selection: Random is allowed. Race-switching is allowed.
Disconnect Policy
If a disconnect occurs during a match, the players are encouraged to first attempt to reach a consensus between themselves and agree that either (1) the game was very close and they should just replay it, or (2) one of the players had a significant advantage and thus should be awarded the win. However, in the entirely likely event that the players do not agree upon one of those options, they should inform a tournament staff member. Your replay will then be analyzed and an official ruling will be made.
