The Rising - Swiss Dota 2 Cup

The cup is cancelled due to no interests. A short statement by organizer eshA:
"As I started to play the game myself some weeks ago and I really started to like it I felt it's time to organize a cup for this awesome game Dota 2. Actually I thought about a cup for Swiss teams because there are not many cups for this game, so why not. The channel "Switzerland" often shows more than 30-40 faces. I thought that would be enough for hosting a bigger cup-series where you can qualify. To be honest I think I just overrated the Swiss Dota 2 Scene. I didn't expect this to come but I don't want to blame anyone. I should have talked to the people first and check out if it makes sense to organize something like that. I'm still looking forward and I think the day will come where the Swiss Dota 2 scene is more than ready. Thanks for your understanding."

Binary Evasion presents "The Rising", a Swiss online Dota 2 cup sponsored by Rapidshare. The cup consists of 2 qualifiers and the playoffs. The 2 finalists in each case qualify for the playoffs to present us 4 participating teams according to that. As you could already suggested it the cup is organized for Swiss teams only. That means more than 50% members of a team must be Swiss citizens or currently live in Switzerland in this case (3 of 5 at least).[break]

Qualifiers
Qualifiers are played as a bo1 single elimination bracket. The top 2 will in each case qualify for the playoffs.

Playoffs
The 4 qualified teams will play against each other in a bo3 double elimination bracket. The final will be played as a bo5, but the team which didn’t drop a loss at that point will have a 1-0 lead.

Prize
The winning team gets 5 x Rapidshare Pro Accounts for one year sponsored by Rapidshare. RapidShare is a one-click hosting service that offers both free and commercial services. Visit them on their homepage and don’t forget to give a like on facebook.

January 20 2013 1600 CET[local] (how to sign up?)
Qualifier#2:
January 26 2013 1600 CET (how to sign up?)
Playoffs:
January 27 2013 1800 CET

Stream
The qualifiers and the playoffs will be streamed and casted by BEVTV.

As it is a small cup we don’t want to stretch the rules too far but there is still the need of some. You can download them here.
