Eternity Gaming, a fairly new team to Starcraft 2 looks to be making waves and trying some different approaches to already tried team works, with an Academy for aspiring players.

Having recently brought on Genevieve "LivinPink" Forget (Diamond Zerg), she will be joined by Michael 'TumescentPie" Sander (Platinum Terran) and Niklas 'SEV' Aberg (Masters Zerg).

All three, now part of the Academy, which looks to be a 'B' or Development team for Eternity's main Starcraft 2 roster.

Right out of the gates, Eternity's CARN will be coaching Livinpink, which has already started up. "(Source: http://eternity-gaming.org/news.php?id=46 )

I presume that down the road more players may join the Academy.

so the academy team is just those three players, they aren't accepting any more or how does that work. Doesn't make that much sense to me.

You should describe their difficulties, levels/rank + your approach to improve them.

Thanks Torte - I'll update with their current ranks, but otherwise, I don't know as I am not a part of Eternity. I just thought it interesting news for those that aren't necessarily pro, or good enough for the other Academy's.

That's really cool to see a plat player getting brought on. Low level players are easier to coach as they're less stuck in their ways.

I hope that these guys/gals and the team in general will have some success in the future.

I don't know about that. Most low level players I try to teach are TOO stuck in their ways, which is why they hit walls.

Can't agree more with this. The best players are those who are flexible and who are willing to confront their own mistakes. Often times players are low level not because they lack ability, but because they lack flexibility.

I really think this is a great idea. The only issues I forsee is that there is a big difference in teaching ability and SC2 skill. Hopefully cArn and the rest are really good at teaching so as to bridge the gap .

Yeah. It's not hard to get to master by yourself with no coach and no teammates, just analyzing your own games and working on your weaknesses. I really question the wisdom of trying to actively coach/develop players that haven't even managed to make master on their own. But I do wish them the best of luck

The point being that if someone is willing to join something like this with the drive to go pro, they're probably flexible enough to be coached.
