| a boring song. Make the song exciting because this is not even metalcore in my ears. figure out a good catchy guitar riff and build it from there or a tune. the middle half has acceptable riffing though. maybe I am being too critical but if you listen to european metal you would understand. |

My friend and I will sometimes record shit when we feel like it. I play guitar, drum machine, bass, and he sings. The ritual is usually: 40 oz of Mickeys each, by the end of the 40ozer, have a song written. Recording usually takes about 2 hours because I suck at drum machine (and guitar... and bass). We've made like 6 songs, but these are the only ones I've transferred to PC from the 4-track so far.
Best attempt at an evil-sounding song for a friend's website, "The Fan Club of Evil" (parody site): http://media.putfile.com/FCOE It's unfinished because my buddy stopped updating his website, so that's all just random riffing at the end. heh
Our first recording (we were trying to make fun of Danzig's lyrical style, ie: 'We're so BAD'): http://media.putfile.com/I-Hate-My-Hate
We've also done a bunch of shitty covers. I'd like to record more and get better at it. It's just kinda tedious, especially the drum machines crap.Last edit: 2006-04-28 21:38:07 |

www.myspace.com/redvenom I write electronic(Mostly drum n bass inspired), film score and hip hop type stuff mostly. Couple MP3 links right there or if you are too lazy to DL you can just listen to the myspace music box songs.
Im gonna check out the songs in this thread in a minute when the MSL torrents are done: [ |

Rise: Im not a big fan of metal with unintelligable growl. Though you sound like you have the voice for that stuff if its what you want to do. The general recording quality was pretty low though and the song didnt seem all that well formulated, it sort of had a first part and a 2nd part and since the lyrics didnt lead me anywhere because I couldnt understand them I would have to say I didnt like this that much. Get your buddies to step their game up to the level of your vocals(Which were really the best part imo). ;] Also I recognize that everyone starts somewhere. I think if I posted some of the first things I made in this thread I would get clowned nonstop.
HeadBangaa: I couldnt get the second song to play and it crashed my browser twice, you might wanna use something other than Filespace or w/e. The first song was pretty good though, I like the progression and what you did with it. Reminded me of 80s metal a lot, which is what I like. So generally I dug it. ;] The drum machine probably added to that.
Aukai: I like the variety and the seemingly chilled nature of your stuff(As its kinda what im into for music overall). I listened to them all but will just talk about the one I liked most.. "Serenade." Really really beautiful track man, if you can I think you should try to make a full arrangement out of it, get a drummer or hand drum(conga, bongo) player on it and whatever else you can. Find someone with some decent recording equipment and I think that shit would be a winner man. If you can sing or something I think it would be perfect for vocals as well. It is just generally dope and I really really like it(On my third listen at the moment). Also I wouldnt mind having an MP3 if you could send one my way;]] Hit me up on aim sometime: KevinSorbo5000.Last edit: 2006-04-29 02:05:12 |

Inspiration from LBA, and I too made it a looong time ago (4-5 yrs maybe).
I have more, but the sound quality isn't exactly the best.
Edit: Wha, Red Venom has got some really good music there, very nice...

Thanks Mynock. I really like your tune, the repeated snare rolls were really dope and I like the dynamics of the track fading around 1:05. It reminds me a bit of the music in Vampire Hunter D(One of my fav anime soundtracks). What'd you use to make it? |
