GLHF MAGAZINE Issue #3 is available NOW

Posting this on behave of the GLHF team since they're having some issues with their TL account.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Starcraft community! We're proud to announce that the third issue is finally out, and is available on our website!

Download it now HERE

Who are we?

To refresh your memory from our previous issue GLHF Magazine is an online e-sports publication focused on StarCraft 2 - capturing the best community stories and providing exclusive interviews and editorials. We used to release on a “when it’s done” schedule but starting this issue are trying to keep our development time to a two month maximum. You can learn more in the About Us section of our website.

What has happened since the last issue?

Since the last release we accumulated tens of thousands of views and over 500 hundred dollars! Again, we can’t thank you enough for all the support you’ve shown us, it’s been completely remarkable. As for progress, we’ve finally nailed down our previously haphazard way of dealing with content by implementing a new pitch submission system here. Just like last issue, we will be paying our writers for any work they complete. Hopefully as we continue to raise money we can begin compensating our editing and design staff as well. But wait that’s not all! We think you’ll find that the article quality has been bumped up once again, and we only expect it to increase from here. We’ve heard your feedback, and we’ve been working hard over the last little while to try and tackle some of these issues. Most of things that went wrong this issue had to do with the actual design of the magazine as opposed to the content; however, we’ve since revamped our system and are optimistic about getting issues out on time from now on. On the business side of things, we’re just about ready to register and incorporate GLHF. We’ve also been speaking to advertisers and investors to get some starting capital to take us to the next level. Oh and we’re going to be updating our blog and our twitter a lot more from now on, no seriously, we promise.

Where do we go from here?

I’m so glad you asked. We’re hoping to acquire some permanent staff so that our release schedule isn’t hampered by life and school – as it stands more than half of our administrative staff are full time students. From now on we’re hoping to release on a bimonthly schedule, and part of that will entail staggering content and design by about a month – this way the design of an issue can be completed while content for the next issue is being gathered. In the interim, we’re hoping to populate our website with some more consistent content so you can get your GLHF fix without the magazine. There is also the potential that somewhere down the line we may start covering other games, but we’re leaving that as an afterthought at the moment.

How can I help?

Despite all our fancy changes, we’re still a community magazine at heart, and that means that we need you to stay afloat. Here’s what we need:

- Designers: email ryan@glhfmag.com
- Writers: email jonathan@glhfmag.com
- Photographers: email ryan@glhfmag.com
- Advertisers: email william@glhfmag.com

However, that’s not to say that you can’t help if you don’t fit into the above categories. Spread the word! Keep playing StarCraft! Keep the community alive! And most of all,
Good Luck, Have Fun

Got a question? Email our lackeys at editors@glhfmag.com

I really like these magazines, but like every magazine I read, I don't read everything. Ugh, I should learn to but I don't. ANYWAYS! I really enjoyed the Alive & Jay part, as I enjoy their comics. It's amazing how the lives of progamers are like, especially MC's.

Great read. I clicked it away first: "I'll read it sometime." But after five minutes I came back and read almost all of it. Great layout, great writers!

I was actually quite upset when one of the articles said that Blizzard is holding up to P2P only because of its pride. Seriously?
