We are back with another exciting season of professional Dota 2!
The Premier League Season 4 will feature 8 invited top-tier teams, along with 2 teams that joined the competition through open qualifiers, fighting through 2 months of almost day-to-day action to grab the title. An increased prize pool of $10,000 should add some oil to the fire, too!
David “Blaze” Dillon and his co-caster Pranav “Rainmaker” Prasad will be guiding us through all the clashes with professional commentary containing both the appeal that holds the average viewer tied to the chair and the technical detail that satisfies the appetites of more advanced players. Simultaneously, Versuta will be covering the matches for our Russian viewers.

The league format will be identical to last season’s format – every team plays against every other team and the top 4 best performing teams enter the culminating Playoffs tournament at the end of the season. The prize is distributed in the following manner:
1. $5,000
2. $3,000
3. $2,000

EG is banned from the premier league for being late and postponing a bunch of matches. This happened ages ago in Season 1 or 2. EDIT: Apparently this ban is no longer in place and EG was invited but declined for other, undisclosed reasons.

As for Na'Vi I couldn't give a fuck less, they don't care about online competitions so they shouldn't be in them. This way the tournament is unspoiled, and hopefully matches don't have to be constantly re-scheduled to deal with the princesses in Na'Vi.
I think last season they said they didn't play in it because there were too many leagues and the prize pool wasn't worth the matches played or something.. I could be mis-remembering though.Last edit: 2013-02-07 11:06:11 |
