Ok, looks about right...
For shame, non-zergs. For shame.
I'm happy to announce the opening of registration for the GGSC2 Charity Marathon at http://www.ggsc2.com!
What is it?
GGSC2 is a StarCraft II charity event that every fan of the game can participate in, put together by some members of Microsoft's AHGL Team. As a player you'll sign up, pick a charity to play for, and then direct your friends and family to the site to pledge for you. Then from March 22nd-24th, play and win as many games of HoTS as possible. With each win, you'll raise more money for your charity! Plus, you can also enter to win some cool prizes from our friends at Razer!
When
Registration is open today at http://www.ggsc2.com. The pledge drive begins on Friday March 22nd and runs through Sunday March 24th.
Who
Everyone is welcome to play, from seasoned pros to total noobs. Play solo on the ladder, play team games with your friends, try your hand at an FFA, or a mix of all three! Any match that takes place using Battle.net's Matchmaker counts towards the event. And even if you've never ventured into online play before, Battle.net's Matchmaker will quickly learn your skill level and place you against other similar players. This is a perfect time to jump in and give it a shot!
TL;DR

sorry for not quite understanding but do you earn money for your charity only based on the pledges you get and meeting the goal you've set or will you still earn something for them if you reach your goal? Yes, it's only based on the pledges you receive. The goal you set is just to help people who don't know about StarCraft make an intelligent pledge. When the event is complete, we'll ask your pledgers to make a donation based on the wins you got up to your goal. We'll also let them know if you went over your goal and give them the option of chipping in extra. Take a look at http://www.ggsc2.com/Pledge/Help for an example.
