Najin Shield vs. Samsung Ozone

It's time to get bloodstains on white shirts
Top Lane
Save vs. Looper
Save is an anomaly in the OGN top lane meta. While everybody else sticks to tanky toplaners, he is the only one who plays the more damage-oriented champions.. His most played champions in OGN are Tryndamere and Kha’zix. But with the nature of toplane, he either snowballs, ends up feeding, or is useless for the rest of the game.
As I explained in my previous write up for the quarterfinal between Frost and Ozone, Looper loves the tanky top lane meta where he feels very confident, which shows in his huge KDA (KDA: 14) for a top laner. He had quite some time now to gather experience in the booth so it will be hard for Save, a rookie, to pressure Looper into mistakes. Ozone should be safe in the toplane.
Jungle
NoFe vs. Dandy
NoFe the one with the most fans on Najin White. He focused on three champions so far in OGN: Elise, Lee Sin, and Olaf. When Najin White couldn’t afford to ban Lee Sin against teams with a good Lee Sin player, NoFe was forced to pick him, usually without much success. Against Ozone they need to ban Lee Sin or NoFe will be forced to pick him again.
Dandy is an excellent Lee Sin player and can decide games on his own in the early phase of the game. Dandy with his great skills at reading the map will be crucial for Ozone to get an early lead. Giving him a champion with early game playmaking abilities would be a good choice for Ozone, and it would be a bad mistake for Shield to allow that.
Mid Lane
Ggoong vs. Dade
Ggoong, who retired from Broodwar in 2012, finally managed to have success in League of Legends, where he became one of the pillars for Najin White Shield. He earned himself a Kassadin ban in most of his games. His favorite champions are Gragas and Kassadin when not banned, but he also showed us successful Ryze and Ahri picks. Being the one with the highest KDA on Shield it is his job to get the game and the momentum rolling for it's team.
His counterpart on Ozone is Dade, who is in top form and has once again become a playmaker. His kill participation over OGN Winter is 74% and 58 kills on his own, which makes him the midlaner with the second most kills in OGN, closely behind Faker. Because of the great synergy between Dade and Dandy, Ggoong and NoFe need to be careful in lane. Najin White would be advised to ban Dade’s Nidalee - the last time Ggoong and Dade met, Dade had a fantastic 12/1/7 game on Nidalee. Another option for Shield is moving Save into the midlane and Seraph into top lane, though it didn’t work out in the last match they had to decide the seeding.
Bottom Lane
Zefa/GorillA vs. Imp/Mata
Zefa favors Lucian as an ADC, but other caster ADCs like Ezreal and Sivir are in his repertoire as well. Even though he had a really good game on Caitlyn, he prefers the Trinity Force champions. Besides Ggoong he is one of the carries for Shield and a reason why they’ve come so far. GorillA’s special trait is that he still plays Lulu, but obviously he also play the meta supports. Their weakness is that if they fall behind, they tend to become too aggressive in lane trying to make plays happen only to fall further behind.
Imp has acknowledged that he is currently not in best form and relies on his teammates to carry him. I am sure he trained hard in the last week to become the number one carry on Ozone again. Nonetheless, Mata’s back became very huge in OGN Winter, particularly in the quarterfinal against CJ Frost when he carried his team with Leona to an easy 3:0 victory. Because of his performance, I am sure that Leona will be either banned or a contested pick between GorillA and Mata.
Final Verdict
I think Ozone is the favorite in this series. They two teams already met three times in the group stage of OGN Winter where the score is 2:1 in Samsung Ozone’s favor. The overall performance in OGN indicates that Najin White Shield is the underdog. Even though they had a dominant win against Ozone in their first game, I would attribute it to Ozone still being rusty after their bad performance at Worlds. In a best of five I don’t see Najin White winning. My guess is a 3:0 or a 3:1 for Samsung Ozone, but who would say no to a Blindpick match?
