Thought I share the latest development on Starcruisers II.
Its called Test because gameplay isn't finalized. Gameplay and UI is constantly being changed. The core game was actually made a year ago, but with recent release of startools, the 3d models were remade. The space carrier and yamato also put in. And some major bugs were fixed.
Anyways, its pretty unique and unlike anything out there. So a new video is made to showcase the latest version.
Nope, based on the overwhelming (non-existent) response this video is producing, I'm surmising its really not that amazing. So I'm moving on to the next map project! The test map also was out for like, 2 years now... But will continue to update this map at a later date though... maybe.
it's pretty incredible what you've accomplished. but yea. the custom map scene here isn't really noticed by anyone unless it's linked externally. definitely try reddit or sc2mapster if you havn't already.
my only complaint is the novelty large explosions, they dont seem to match the amount of damage being dealt otherwise pretty awesome.
This looks really cool! A real tactical starship fighting game, not an cheesy action game like the other ones. Most people don't even look at random threads in here so don't worry about slow response. Maybe post on the starcraft reddit?
I think this looks absolutely fan-friggin'-tastic. This is what Eve Online should be played like.
I just don't post much and, unfortunately, do not have any time to play at all, either, but this really looks phenomenal and if I had time I would definitely play it. Guess that isn't much help, though, hahaha.
One minor suggestion, I would make the UI less busy (simpler designs, fewer colours etc) as it's difficult to understand what is happening on screen. Oh and the nuke mushroom cloud looked really odd in space!
Don't worry about the lack of comment, this definitly looks like a game I would play when polished. In the end I think you - as a hobbyist developer - should focus on building what you yourself would enjoy. Don't take into account too much what others think of it - you are not going to make money out of this anyway.

The UI is still work in progress, but the idea is to make the UI as busy as possible. Its suppose to feel so complicated, you need to be trained to understand it.
And yeah, I'm totally focusing on what I would enjoy, and that's my next map project! After 2 years of Starcruisers, its novelty had since wore off for me.
