1. Tournament Summary
- PGR and YG will pick 8 players each.
- 3 Team v Team Matches (Perhaps in Sandlot format, although this is still undecided)
- The winner takes around 1,500,000 won (~1,500 USD), the loser around 500,000 won (~500 USD). Team captains decide how they want to split the prizes among the players.
2. PGR Team Selection Tournament
As for the YGclan team selection, kkong[yg] said he would select the “best web members” or whatever and have his own team selection tournament… Their current league is to seed for the team qualification tournament... it’s so complicated, I want to smack kkong upside the head…
In any case, PGR will also have a Team Qualifying Tournament.
Note!! If you are participating in the YGClan Team Qualifying Tournament, you cannot enter the PGR tournament.
In 1-2 weeks, we will make a separate subforum to post announcements for this tournament.
Participants for the tournament will be selected on the following basis:
1) Those who were part of the PGR team in the sandlot
2) Sandlot players
3) Players recommended by Sandlot players, Sandlot captains, or leaders of various communities
4) Semi-pros and practice partners
5) PGR League participants (we will automatically accept the top 5)
6) After this, first-come-first-served
We plan to accept 64 or 128 players.
If we accept 128, 128/8 = 16, so 16 > 8 > 4 > 2 >1 (you need to win 4 times)
Since 2 out of 3 would probably take forever, we will likely limit it to 1 game each.
Maps? We have not decided yet. We will announce specifics later…
3. A plea for some interest in this tournament…
During the Sandlot, there was so little interest so the watching audience was tiny…
During the PGR Tournament, as well as the final match with YGClan, we will have many Afreeca broadcasts.
We are also looking for 2-3 tournament managers, and 1 person to make the PGR team logo. T.T
The tournament organizer will be Carot (he does not know this yet).
4. Why Have this Tournament?
… I wasn’t going to write this because I was lazy but… (sorry)
I’ve always wanted to have lots of tournaments…
There’s the frustration I was feeling during the Sandlot… and I also realized that amateur players also want to play in lots of tournaments... and talking about this with kkong, we just suddenly agreed.
I’d like to ask for your interest in this tournament, the way it is run, map selection (we’re thinking of putting in user-created maps).
If YGClan gets a bit richer, the second tournament may end up having a pot of 2 + 2 million won (4 million won = ~4,000 USD)
