| Didn't Kishimoto mention in an interview YEARS ago how he had a Sakura arc and a Kakashi arc planned for after this "Sasuke arc"? I can't find it since it's so old but I do clearly remember thinking even back then how terrible of an idea it sounded given the direction and pace it had already been at. To be honest, I don't see Naruto or even Bleach ending anytime soon (Bleach's final arc will be at least 2 years long). |

How could this possibly go on for more years? Naruto is the strongest character in the entire Manga, save only a few (Sasuke, Madara, possibly Tobi). I was really hoping Bleach would end -- there were just WAY too many random bad guys created between Ichigo's first defeat at Aizen's hands and the final battle. And the final battle just made no sense.
But I have to admit, I'll be really sad when Naruto's over. I feel attached to the characters, having seen their childhoods and what-not. |

I thought it was more like they would have greater roles like he was going to make them be useful. Because honestly they are two HUGE chars and both seem a lot less powerful then they actually are and they have been playing highly reduced roles (and sakura has been going to the dark side of emo hell like sasuke).
This series will not end soon lol soo much he needs to tie up and some things said he will do (that aren't confirmed) that could stretch this out like 2-4 more years if he wanted to.
But when you think about it a lot of the stuff is SIDE stuff, he can milk the final battle a but but then he can do everything else pretty fast if he wanted to. Depends on his motivation and how it does well in popularity.Last edit: 2012-02-10 06:43:53 |

I don't think it makes sense to make a whole series for his Hokage years..there's a point at which the powers Naruto possesses will become ridiculous to the point of stupid (if it isn't stupid already). It just wouldn't be interesting having an overpowered protagonist running around saving the world again and again (again, if it isn't already).

My (wild) predictions.....
Madara (real one) kills tsunade (ezpz before dying, so naruto can finally become hokage)
Itachi fights kabuto perhaps both dying before last arc starts (with random others joining the fight)
Sasuke kills sakura (adding to the "anger" in the last fight which naruto "absorbs")
Madara is too strong to die before the last arc, but the last arc needs to be about sasuke rather than him, and this eye of the moon plan seems too "epic" to start something else with sasuke, so I somehow see this carrying forward to the last arc. Worst case scenario would be the "immortallity" that is madara gets reveals which translate into madara 1/2 taking over the body of sasuke? sounds kinda dumb, hopefully that doesn't happen.
Yes my prediction does seem to be the conventional route. |

Are you kidding? I could easily see Naruto doing a whole series for the Hokage years. Naruto wouldn't run around saving people. He'd order other people to go around doing stuff, they'd die or get crippled, Naruto would have long drawn out periods of emo anguish and suffering in which Kakashi, Iruka, Sakura, and Hinata will all console him and tell him how fabulous he is and give him lectures about what it means to be a leader which will all culminate in Naruto being filled with a fiery rage of Dattebayo that sends him racing off to smash the opponent who dared to hurt his beloved underlings. Then everyone will rejoice and talk about what a great hero Naruto is etc etc ad nauseam. |

But there have already been rumors about a second time jump, which is totally plausible since the series will logically end with Naruto ultimately defeating Sasuke and becoming Hokage. Based on what we've seen so far I don't think that Naruto or Sasuke are stronger than either Madara or the Hashirama were when they fought, and I think that Naruto and Sasuke will surpass those two before their final bout. There are also a lot of other loose ends, primarily between Naruto and both Hinata and Sakura, but we also still know very little about the Sage of 6 paths, the fate of the Bijuu, and the true identity of the masked man. Also, will Sasuke see Itachi again? If so, how will that end? What about Kabuto? What about the remainder of the impure world guys? How will Naruto become Hokage with Tsunade still alive and well? There is a lot of shit that still needs to get sorted and, at the current rate of progression, I'd be shocked if the story doesn't last for at least another year, though I'm assuming it will be more.

It does kind of look like the rinnegan, but that may be due to the dark colors used.
