IS vs Orion
IS went in, dangerously close to be being eliminated. Since the records from the 1st and 2nd rounds are added up, IS could not afford to lose anything, as they had qualified for the 2nd round at last place. On the otherhand, Orion was trying to take back the #1 spot they had lost last week.
1: Mumyung(IS) > Boxer(Orion) on Nostalgia
One hell of an upset! And it was very one-sided as well. Considering the players Boxer has defeated on Nostalgia (Junwi x2, Chojja), it's almost a miracle that Mumyung won.... Or maybe we can say he's underrated, yet again? Maybe he'll stop choking in the starleague!
2: Breeze[Akuta]&Eliza(P&Z, IS) > IntoTheRainbow&Zerglee(P&Z) on The Huntress
And the IS team scores another upset! Zerglee and Rainbow had the 2nd best 2v2 record in the league, while the IS team had been continuously changing it's 2v2 team to try and find a winning combination.
The game was decided rather early, the IS team was succesful in cutting off the Orion team's early troops, giving them a distinct troop advantage. They would follow the pattern of threatening a player and then crushing the other player's reinforcments while they made their way across the map. Eventually this built them a large enough unit advantage for them to wipe the Orion team off the map.
3: Iloveoov(Orion) > Breeze[Akuta](IS) on Sin Gaema Gowun
While Iloveoov continues to develop under the Orion team, Breeze has yet to take off. Breeze followed a 2 zealot rush with a DT rush, but neither were succesful. The two players took their expansions, and started to mass. As it was seen that Iloveoov was going to have an overwhelming ground force, Breeze went for carriers, but too late. Iloveoov crushed him in a one-sided game.
IS 2 : 1 Orion
IS stays in, and has a chance of clinching 4th place to make the playoffs.
AMD vs Hanbitsoft
AMD had come in 2nd to last, which meant they were in a much
better situation than IS initially. But they lost their game with IS previously, and then IS defeated Orion. So this put AMD in last place, and they were facing the same situation IS had been facing earlier that day. Hanbit was secure in the middle, but still wanting for a higher rank.
1: Reach(Hanbit) > Elky(AMD) on Guillotine
Reach went for a simple ranged goon rush, while Elky went for a two tank drop. Elky's micro proved to be far worse than Reach's, as he took critical damage from Reach's range goons early on. Elky barely saved himself using SCVs, but he merely delayed his demise as Reach regrouped and attacked again.
2: Reach&HOT(P&Z, Hanbit) > Jinnam/Jinsu(Z&RandomP, AMD) on Neo Jungle Story. Having drawn the same races, the two teams went for similar sair/muta unit mixes. They weren't up to the task, toss being Reach's main race.
3: Silent_Control(Hanbit) > Grrr...(AMD) on Neo Bifrost
Grrrr... is one strange guy. Sometimes he'll just burst out with some awesome play, like his recent iTV streak. And then sometimes he'll just play an extremely mediocre/bad game. And that's what happened, Hanbit must have certainly been happy to catch Grrrr... one on of those days (I wonder if it was an "I don't feel so well day", or an "I don't give a damn day").
Hanbit 3 : 0 AMD
