Everytime Testie says something about me or my team I'm going to take a shit on his curly, arrogant head. I'm sick of it. I've had to read his condescending shit for 2 years. If he wants to learn to be humble and mind his own business, you will never see me post here. Ever. | im not going to read through this thread but anyways.. smuft is my friend and i play him a lot. i was upset that i played so poorly and said that. it was taken out of context. i told him right after that i was disapointed with how i play. this shouldnt have ever been made public. yeah i bad manner my friends when they beat me. ask any of them. they know i dont mean things that i say like that. there is no reason to hate on me twisted. i thought we were amicable back when you still played. i never ever talk about my skill level i never ever self promote. i dont go on forums saying people suck. i just like to play starcraft a lot and i dont like losing. the one time i come on the forum is to defend assem and then i get trashed on by testie for like 5 pages. again i never talk about myself. i dont want to. i just want to compete and play my best. rekrul posting one private screen shot taken out of context shouldnt make everyone jump all over me. i know you all hate my turtle terran and think i suck. no reason to say im a pathetic loser etc. |

| I think that the substantive, non teenage girl aspects of this thread are probably true. But isn't it more fun to hope that maybe some foreigner will have a spark that ignites when they go to Korea? In any sport, the country that has that sport as part of its daily culture will have a huge striking advantage, but that doesn't mean that it's impossible for someone to come in and dedicate themselves and discover a wealth of talent. Who knows, maybe someone we haven't even heard of yet will come out and destroy the foreign scene and head to Korea and qualify for a starleague. It's not likely at all, but it is possible, and for me at least it's more fun to hope. |

| I am friends with all of Media and they are fine to me but I cannot help but be slightly satisfied that they were called out for the bm shit they do when they lose. Greg/Dan/Alex even if you only "bm friends," can you see why it is still a bad idea? Just yell in the privacy of your own home, hit a wall or cuss. Cuss at yourself or something. But doing anything short of "gg I played poorly" or something like that will usually be blown up on a forum somewhere or captured in the text of a replay and used to paint you a worse person than you may be. Justifying it with "hes a friend" or "I do this to everyone" doesnt work either. Its not like you are "joking," you are seriously telling other players they are trash and should have lost. Simply not needed. |

But you tend to forget that some foreigners actually beat the highest ranking progamers in korea... just because YOU dident dosent mean anyone else cant.

well I sort of posted it in the other thread.
But IMO people act the way they do because BW is extremely frustrating and the return for the effort you put in is not worth it 99% of the time. Its hard for some people to come to grips with the fact that the best players in the world only beat players of similar skill level about 60% of the time, and 60% would be a great percentage probably top 3 or 4. Once you realize that regardless of how good you are if you play people in a similar skill set to yourself (even several notches below) you may lose through many circumstances some of which may not even be under your direct control then you start to see how futile bw is. No one wins all the time, not even the best player in the world, and thats hard for some people to grasp (im sure most dont even think about it). I for one expected myself to perform well every game (even if I knew the player was better than me) and I understand now that I held myself to way too high of standards especially for the amount of time I put into actual "practcie" which was basically none(playing games isnt real practice imo, you need repetitions of situations/build orders to truly get better). I think the sooner off some of these guys learn that you cant do your best all the time the better off they will be.
BW is just frustrating as hell and Id like to give most people the benefit of the doubt that their personality (maybe they arent laid back) with a combination of frustration and lack of return causes people to get upset a lot (and its usually why they are fine later on). Dont believe that most of these newer progamers dont get pissed off too, I bet its a bit of a shock for them when they first get on a pro team and lose umpteen matches in a row and after months of practice they dont see much in return. |

| Back in the day it was more common anyway for top foreigners to win against top koreans because the skill difference was simply lower. This is why top foreigners had more success earlier like Grrr or Elky or Nazgul. The skill difference was _lower_. In earlier WCG's the foreigners could compete better also but there was Boxer who dominated. |

This is a discussion forum. When mindless unknown idiots go on flaming sprees against one another they get banned. When people who are known flame against them we give them a warning or they get temp-banned. This is simply how it works here. When people who are known are having a heated debate but are intelligent in the way they write, they do not get banned. The topic might get closed but they don't get banned. People get banned here for being shitty posters. |
