Poll: Do you like the new Triple Commentary format? (Vote): It's perfect, don't change a thing. (Vote): It's good but needs some refinement, my suggestions are below (Vote): It's not horrible but I prefer solo commentaries (Vote): You all suck, I prefer the Koreans. (Vote): What triple commentary?
MSL Group B
Game 1 Part 1 - Bisu vs Jaedong
Game 1 Part 2 -
Game 2 - July vs Yarnc
Game 3 - Winner's Match
Game 4 - Loser's Match
Game 5 - Loser's Final
Also, for those of you who like our stuff. We will be doing Group C of the MSL Ro32 in the next day or two, incase you want to wait for those before watching the korean vods Should have em up by Saturday.
you lose the sound (and the music), that totally sucks. then you have annoying american accents (probably only a problem for europeans) then you spend too much time stating the obvious.
for those reasons i'd never be able to stand a full commented VOD
sorry, other people will be more enthused i'm sure

agreed, i can't stand english (especially dubbed over) vods unless its by a very insightful commentator (chill, tasteless, nony etc).

I wouldn't say totally, rather it loses some flavour.

LOL Have you listened to tasteless? Talk about annoying accent!
then you spend too much time stating the obvious.
Perhaps they do, but which commentator doesn't?

Can't remember listening to chill or nony (I'm fairly new to the VOD scene), but tasteless annoys the crap out of me. Compared to him, I'll take a triple commentary any day.
The worst thing I can say about triple commentary (apart from sound) is that you lose a lot of tempo synching your efforts.
Otherwise, there's the occasional name confusion and missing some leet move on the screen, but that's nitpicking.
If you cant stand english why do you even bother listening to it ? This is obviously made for people who understand english and doesnt speak korean.
Anyway, you guys are doing an awsome job to provide us with commentary. The triple commantary are great but needs some tuning. Sometimes i feels like your choice of question or debate subject does not quite fit with the current battle that is going on. Other times it fits like a charm. It also feels that sometimes you guys don't say what you are really thinking. Be honest even if the 2 others don't agree. Don't go overboard with the triple commentary. Save the big games for the triple because i really enjoy the single commentary. You guys all have your style and opinions in single commentary and that is what makes listening to them so great.
Keep up the good work. Alot of people are supporting you guys. Thanks.
These triple commentaries are a tremendous improvement over your last ones, your definetly on the right track.
Right now I have one suggestion. If you want to talk about the players, the map, current standings etc start the commentary a bit before the game or you'll miss early stuff.
Perfect example would be July vs Yarnc, there was already happing alot of stuff while you where still talking about the players in general.
Ive only watched Bisu vs Jeadong and I loved it. Was a really good idea to make one of you lead the commentary, and asking questions like you did. Really enjoyed it a lot, great work, keep it up :D
I think that commentary was perfect, so I voted perfect.
TBH, I think I prefer Klazart's solo commentaries.
I think what makes a commentator good, is having good humour, relatively insightful comments, and being very excitable. When you add partner commentators, they should have a specialty in one of these three qualities, that the other commentators are not as good at. Unfortunately for your efforts, I think Klazart is best at all three. Klazart tells funny anecdotes from his life, he usually makes good predictions, and at least tells you stuff you might not be thinking about that's going on with the player's careers, and he sounds genuinely excited the whole game. I'm sure the other two try very hard, but they don't really know how to keep up (maybe they're a bit afraid to let loose?). I notice the entire VOD when something exciting happens Klazart is all over it, talking very fast, and he has to force himself to slow down and give the other commentators their turn, because they're not sure how to just jump in (like Klazart knows how to do).
In short: Klazart just has so much to say, while the other two just aren't sure what they're supposed to do (and Klaz being a nice guy, will stop himself, and ask them a question, which he could really answer himself).
PS: When I heard at the beginning of the VOD diggity and moletrap saying BiSu was the favourite, I was just shaking my head. I know PvZ is BiSu's territory, but Jaedong is undeniably on fire right now, and this match would have been more important for him to prove himself (thus practice a little harder) than for BiSu, who no doubt felt relatively comfortable.
The big problem with the triple commentary here is that Klaz is making a huge effort to engage all three commentators, but this discussion covers big moves in the game. In the Bisu Jaedong game, Jaedong's first egg block (blocking his nat from Bisu's zealots) went completely unmentioned.
Wide-ranging discussions about maps, players, and current match-up trends are all fine, but when they interfere with the game, they've got to go. Starcraft is simply too fast of a sport to have these discussions with a game going on in the background.
To be perfectly frank, I think that both of the other commentators lack the charmisa that Klaz has :\

dito
I also like diggity, his voice is nice and calm compared to lets say klazart who is nasal and sounds like he is having an orgasm
well i dont fell you 3 have too many experience in zvz. I dont find this comentary very interesting. If i watch ascencion the guys know what they are talking about. But its just my feeling, I rly like your solo comentarys

I think the main this is to plan out your format a little more. I noticed you had one person as the main commentator who ran things and I thought it worked really well. Just need to perfect it a little more. Also, when theres a big piece of action all three of you like to jump on it (Klaz seems to win because he is so loud xD) and really I think you guys should decide who gets to do it for that match or or the first 10mins or whatever it is.
Personally I really enjoy all three of your solo commentaries and they really made prostarcraft accessible to me very quickly so that I can watch VODs without english commentaries now. I really like your overarching discussions about the history and future of the leagues and the different players while still commentating on the action and the main points.
I could porlly nitpick a few more things but I've gotta get to class and really overall I think you each do a great job with your own style. I know people like to complain about Klaz's excitment but personally I absolutly love it, diggity's really professional approach I also think is awesome and moletrap has a really great casual and entertaining approach. Together you could maybe try to each focus on your strengths and have all the aspects of a great commentary team covered but I dunno.
Overall great work in solo, double and tripple commentaries, I look forward to more!
Keep in mind I really appreciate and respect you guys for doing this. I think you've worked out the main problems with everyone talking and people yelling over top of one another, it sounds much smoother and professinoal now. I like listening to these a lot more than 1 person commentaries. That being said, here is my main criticism which I've had for awhile and I think applies to all three of you:
Sometimes you guys say things that just drive me crazy. Like "do you think Bisu is going to have enough time to get Cannons up to deal with this Spawning Pool?" The answer is obviously yes, considering there are only 4 Larvae and there is a Probe scouting, but Moletrap answers something along the lines of "I don't know, Bisu might be in a little bit of trouble here." There was no trouble whatsoever.
Again "Bisu has gone for Robotics facility first". No, just no. No Protoss would do that in this situation, you should be able to infer that there is a Stargate without seeing it.
I think you need to decide which among you is the strategy-minded one and let him describe how the builds and decision making are going to affect the game, and the others shouldn't touch it unless it's a "shallow" topic.
Jaedong made a Hydralisk Den before the first Corsair was out, and he definitely had not scouted the two Stargates.
I really don't think 4 base vs 3 base is overextending yourself.
Storm hurts burrowed units :D
Klaz's game summary @~5:00 in part 2 was alright, I mean Reavers were one option but I don't think they were the only option as you say. Diggity's @ 9:00 summary was better in my eyes.
I realize that this game was kind of a confusing one in that I still don't know how Jaedong won, but little things like this are things that I think any commentator should be able to comment on and they kind of grind my gears.

Same, but I do still like these triple commentaries, just not as much. My only issue with this one was all the "Ohhhhhhhhhhhs" that sound like someone is busting a nut. :x Getting loud and excited is one thing, but a long "Oh" doesn't add anything.
I really like the tripple commentary formula, but as always there are things that could be better. With time and practice it will be perfect. Now the suggestions: 1. Simultanous talking during a showcast is bad, and you know that. That plus being nice guys results in situations when two people starts their commentary together and then suddenly stops, waiting for the other to continue. There is a moment of silence and then the two starts again. You have disadvantage of not sitting in one room, but should understand each other better. Or maybe keep talking together and let the stronger survive 2. Giving one person leading role in each commentary was a good idea. 3. Out of the trio, diggity has the best voice. Nice, warm tone that sounds very professional, but unfortunately lacks of excitement. I like his commentary but seems like you guys dont fit very well. 4. Too many predictions, speculations and rhetoric questions while you should concentrate on action itself. 5. Pity, there was no game sounds during the relation. Intention or mistake?

I, for one, being a non-native English speaker (and despite my living in the UK) think that what you call "the American accent" is actually much more clear and intelligible speech than most of the local accents in the UK, i.e. Scottish, Cockney, Geordie, you name it.
