Federer showed great conditions in the 5th set, despite his shot losing power, he could still chase a lot of balls.

I hope he can recover for next match, and I really hope his match's on monday night.

fuck i was really hoping the serbian dude would win.

Im so suck of Federer. I like him, and hes no doubt the best in the world, but the last 2 aus opens he has won, and the one before that was semi finalist. He has won last 3 wimbledons and last 3 US opens right?? and finalist in last 2 french. i liked it 3-5 years ago when there was no definite favorite. There were older players like Agassi and Rafter and all the top players now were young and up-and-coming. There was a great mix, and world No1 would never be the same for too long, not only that, but world No1 could be beaten by any seed/unseed on a good day. Now Federer comes and ruins the whole thing and its just a competition to see who gets to play him in teh final. Hopefully that changes now.

From a competition standpoint, maybe you're right. But the level of tennis has sharply increased from even 6-7 years ago so his reign probably won't last too much longer. FWIW, I say watch his games and marvel at his ability... you won't see something like that again for a very, very long time.

Federer has great mind control. He knows when to pressure and when to slow down. I think he plays alot of mind games with his opponents. He also knows how to comeback. Hope Federer takes this open.

How is it possible to grow tired of watching not only the best player ever but also one of the most beautifully playing players ever?

And to say he is to dominant, I mean yes he dominates but the amazing thing is that Nadal dominates clay play even more than Federer dominates the other surfaces. And things got even more interesting last year when the "new" star Djockovic, only 20 years old, emerged with fantasticd overall play and even beating Federer and Nadal in the same master series event..

Nah, tennis got 10000 % more interesting when Federer started his domination era. The rivalry between Nadal and Federer is only contested by the Sampras vs Agassi rivalry the last 10 years of tennis.

Or at least that's my opinion

Just in case someone didn't post it yet, espn360.com has free tennis coverage for those whose internet provides it. It also has replays of earlier matches.

hahaha shut up strafe.

Bet again today federer > berdych. Federer has a 5-1 record against him, and has lost only 1 set in those 5 games he won. His loss was back in 2004.

Damn it man. Nadal is he luckiest sucker ever. WTF, he not only has an easy draw, but now his opponents retire in the 2nd set!

Hewitt/Bagdhatis will lose to Djokovic anyway.

Federer is definitely suffering from his virus pre tournament and lack of preparation.

I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't win this year...

Let's see if Ferrer can take Djokovic down.
