Who gives a crap? You there to workout, along with everyone else. I was always short and not very big at all Freshman-Sophomore years of High School (Freshman year I was a whopping 5'2" 100 lbs) and Sophomore year was about the same, give or take 10 pounds. I did also run XCountry Soph year. Over the summer and int Junior Year, I nearly skyrocketed to 6' at the end of my Junior year.
However, in my Senior Year of HS, I am now 6'2" and 148 lbs, and still growing (late bloomer). While still skinny, if it wasn't for working out with my friend who was quite bigger than me at the start of Junior Year, I would be nowhere near the weight or strength I am now.
If you want to seriously get yourself in shape, and gain strength, work out 2 body parts every day, and do it in a cycle, taking Sunday off. 4 sets of 12, 10, 8, and 6 reps. The 6 reps will build your power lifting strength, while the 12, 10, and 8 will build up definition.
Do that for a year, and you will get in shape. |

hey i just recently (about a month or so) ago started trying to *tone* my arms and abs and like i started out with 12 lb weights and those were pretty hard but eventually i got to the point where i could do 30-40 of those and i moved on to 20 lb weights, at first i could only do like 7-10 of those tops but in like 2 days i got up to 15 and now im hitting 19 20lbs with very much effort, also i've been working on my abs doing 2 sets of 20 modified crunches (i read if you extent your arms upward while going back up it has more effect) + 60 bicycle manuevers (for those who havent heard about them they're supposedly really good) i've been doing the abs stuff pretty frequently per day for about 3 weeks to a month and i havent really seen any results in my abs except my stomach muscles are significantly tighter but no visible 6 pack yet Well right now i dont know my peak for my arms can anyone give advice because i dont know if i can go higher than 20 20 lbs, maybe with some time but i only weigh 119 lbs and am like 5'6, also can someone tell me how to progress with my abs, maybe i need to wait longer ? also any advice for arms which doesnt involve much equipment is nice too, my arms have gotten A LOT stronger but i dunno my limit and i want to be stronger ! |

for better abs do cardio everyday and when u do your ab routine don't rest at all, move on to the next thing right away, you're not done until you're curled up in the fetal position in pain |

| pushups take a while to build up muscles. I suggest you do 40 and take about a 5 min max break and then do 30. then 5 min then 20. Keep doing this until you get to 10 |

I ment 115%, but when you go insane like that, it's just stupid...cause most of the time, once someone gets into big numbers, they try harder and harder thinking that the bigger the number, the stronger they are...and you'll strain yourself if you do that....also when you lift that much, you should do less reps...like 8-15 is good for each type of lift....the other lifts, you want to do like 30-100 if you can. |

I dunno could happen, it's only 20lbs. O n btw iGgs it's been my experience that crunches r a huge waste of time, the most effecient thing to do is your basic sit up but do em right, like keep feet flat and still on the ground with no help, arms behind your head, and don't "stall" in between reps. It's amazing how many more reps u can do with just a little cheating. I have a rough time getting to 50, but can easily do 2wice 3 times that if i cheat. Also do incline with a plate

| hrm i heard from a naturalpathic doctor that lifting weights puts huge amounts of strain and stress on your body, causing you to have massive amounts of pain later on in life. fact or fiction? he says the best way to live your life, one without pain and suffering, (and being completely healthy btw) is to do moderate excercise like swimming jogging and such. what do you guys thinK? |

| if he just started working out, his form most likely stopped him from doing more than 7. i have worked out off and on for abuot 7 years, when i come back from a brake, im pushin relatively small numbers, but within a few work outs ill be at like 90% of where i left off. muscles just need to get use to the motions and forms to be used to there full potential. |

| Weights are good if u do heavy weights.. not so heavy u struggle eveytime but heavy enough to make an effort... people who do lighter weights and more sets get nice builds and have a good tone but they are weak as shit. Heavy weights build up more strength. Push ups are good and underated.. people think "gym" machines are better.. if u are willing to put in the hard work with push ups then they will pay off. Gym machines make the work out easier. |
