It's pretty simple. If you do high weight/low reps you build big muscles. If you do low weight/high reps you tone your body. Both ways build muscle. But you will not always get bigger or at least not huge. Getting bigger for someone with a slim build for example takes a lot of effort. No matter how much heavy weight lifting you do you will only ever get toned and not huge, its the way a slim build person just is. Unless you go on a diet to gain weight. But that's a whole different story.
So it does make a very big difference what type of lifting and/or other exercises you do.
It is possible that iggs increased his reps like that. I've seen it done a million times. With such low weight its quite easy. It's no miracle or anything.

Yeah that's exactly right. I know a lot of people who hate working their legs (me included) but you have to do it for overall growth. Your arms for example will stop gaining if you don't ever work your legs. And nobody likes sticking points in their lifting Last edit: 2003-09-13 19:41:12 |
