Kal 48%-52% IrisNobody has really heard from Kal in a long time. However, he is still one of the top tosses. Iris, on the other hand, has been on fire (7-3 last 10). Medusa so far has been rather balanced PvT (statistically, at least). If Iris can keep up the pace at which he has been playing, he should take take this set. free[gm] 37%-63% Jaedong Zerg has NEVER won on a map with Byzantium as part of its name. free has been doing relatively well recently, but nothing special. Jaedong, however, is 8-2 in his last 10 overall and 9-1 in has last 10 ZvP. If Jaedong didn't have to play 2 matches the day before, he would win this without a problem. But, free now has the advantage in practice time. I expect Jaedong to take this set, but I wouldn't be too surprised if free won. firebathero 49%-51% Tempestfirebathero beat Much and Bisu. Tempest managed to sneak by.fantasy and RuBy. I would give firebathero the advantage here because he has probably been practicing nothing but TvP for the last month. Hwasin 43%-57% BisuHwasin has not played a TvP since early July. He has not won a TvP since May. He is 3-8 against Bisu. The only thing in Bisu's way to the quarterfinal is the map itself, not Hwasin. I expect Bisu to take this set.

I recall seeing 3 Lions post that the percentages is not a rating he gives, but a sum of a number of stats such as last 10, last 10 in matchup, overall matchup percentage and a couple others. It's entirely possible that FBH's past atrocious TvP has skewed the stats to have him lower than Tempest.

Jaedong > free (JD vs. Protoss = win, I don't care what map it's on)
FBH > Tempest (if FBH can take down Much and Bisu, he can deal with Tempest's shenanigans)

| Jaedong and Bisu will pull through. The other two matches I'm a bit uncertain. I'm opting for Kal only because I like his playstyle more than Iris but Iris is no slouch. FBH vs. Tempest...well, FBH won against Bisu and Much but lost against Free. I wanna say FBH but Tempest seems like a more stable choice. |

This just means that Jaedong is broken. The map might be broken too, but we only know for sure about jaedong.
Blue storm had the same problem- There was an argument (compelling if you looked at all the zvt and zvp games on Blue storm) that jaedong and luxury made the map imbalanced. If you take away jaedong and Luxury on Blue storm, the map comes out looking a lot more even (in zvt and zvp). |

Ten minutes before event-start and GOM is giving me all sorts of trouble. The TL-sidebar isn't providing me with any info today and yaoyuan is a mess.
I skipped everything I had scheduled today to watch these games, not finding a stream would be a disaster. Can anyone provide me with some last-minute help?

Could do that, it lagged terribly last time, but I'll try it. hang on
TL sidebar doesn't show up until about 5 min before the event starts. it works perfectly right now. open the .pls file with VLC and you're good to go.
Running dual streams atm. The daum sports thingie shows Iris in his booth atm, the zatic stream shows weird commercials.
Does it do that for anyone else, or did I somehow fuck that stream up?
edit: 1st game now started on the Daum Sport stream.

its lagging for me for like last 2 weeks, i used to have no problem on daum, then sports , now even yaouan works better when it finnaly buffers. |

Zatic stream is like 5 minutes behind. Daum sports thing started the game like a minute ago and zatic's stream just finally showed iris in his booth with some girl in there prolly working on some problem.
Maybe the game got paused or something and it's not behind, but this looks like it's probably pregame preperations.
EDIT: Ah someone's mouse failed on them? I guess the stream isn't behind then.

just install greasemonkey, the script and "STREAM" in huge, bold letters will appear below the Power Rank on TL.

Well, if free can play an A+ game and has some success in BO's (or cheese) and Jaedong makes a mistake or two. (however unlikely that is.) We could see a close game. But in all likelyhood Jaedong is going to take it.

| I wouldn't expect jaedong to wuss out and cheese just because the map is somewhat unfavouring. He can pull a miracle pretty well. He probably was just taking the opportunity to mix it up, but not killing that probe fast enough really hurt him it seems, and i could be wrong but i think he should've prioritized cannons over sairs a bit more. Scourge own sairs. 6 mutas don't own finished cannons. Free seemed smart at one point to let his sair absorb damage while is cannons warped. |

That wasn't much of a game past the first fight... too bad the stream buffered and all I see was the last batch of tanks getting stormed. -_-

1 - scouted wrong direction to hwasin scouting correctly
2 - hwasin had build advantage, faster expansion
3 - harass does little damage

why doesn't anyone learn from Flash? Anytime protoss opens with a DT stall, just vult patrol the map and expo AGAIN. Protoss get fucked beyond belief because they lose their base advantage. Add your armory and go for the macro game.

Yeah... that kind of confused me. He laid a ton of mines all over his plateau but none covering his second natural. He could have expanded there sooner, but he didn't. Then he let his scv building the command center get sniped because he didn't have mines covering that particular route. I guess he just didn't want to overextend himself. He wasn't in any danger of dying immediately, that's for sure... but he just got rolled later. |

Bisu played great. I haven't seen him play this well for many months. His army was always coordinated really well, in just the right place at just the right time. Maybe Calm can throw some more games to Hwasin and make him feel better. Second time's the charm.

Yeah... I went and rewatched the VOD so I could see that battle. And basically, where were Hwasin's units? He had like no vultures, and not nearly enough mines there. His tanks weren't particularly well positioned either (they were all quite far back on the cliff... why didn't he set them up closer and lay mines on the low ground? as it is, he wasted most of the high ground advantage). I guess he was trying to keep up his macro (he had expanded to his 4th recently), but wasn't able to.
