ELO is just a rating system for any two player competitive game. it's not up to the game whether to have it or not, it's an external metric for rating player performance

Haz you never been touched by 4chan?
On the issue about Elo (there's no caps), Flash could play against other people too... if Jaedong isn't online then he'll face the next lowest one, etc. And you could easily tweak it so that he would play the next lowest one if he's faced Jaedong recently... Elo works perfectly fine. |

lots of games have been added to TLPD and ELO has been recalculated since the OP. There's 11 people who have peaked above 2300 now. |

| So 3 months ago Flash was at 2401, after he had far surpassed the previous elo high of 2360something, which was only briefly obtained, and quickly fallen from. 3 months later, Flash is at 2402 tonight, while this entire time staying about the second highest elo peak every other than himself. Oh, and he probably just broke the elo record again. Yea..... Flash is a b-. |

My friends and I, bored one day, decided to list Flash's (among others') last ~5 losses in each matchup. You know someone's scary when you can distinctly remember each loss, what map, what strategy was used, etc. Kid is a beast.
