Here are some of my prospects I think are worth the points, to getting yourself a top 10 spot in Round 3!
In no particular order;
1) Horang2
Points earned this round: 9
Games played (as of writing) this round: 1
Dubbed the next Nal_rA/Reincarnation of Nal_rA, Horang2 is one of two Sparkyz Protosses expected to make to make a large impact next round. Breezing through the MST in a tough group consisting of Flash, GGPlay and Dongrae, watch him being heavily used, rotating with Tazza in the Sparkyz lineup.
2) Tazza
Points earned this round: 6
Games played (as of writing) this round: 3
Less notable than Horang2 but still a nice prospect if you want to pick up a cheap, Protoss player for next season. His only notable victory this round of course being against current top Protoss player Bisu. Watch him surprise many next round. Being the winner of PGL Season 3 should add to his stock value tremendously. As said before, watch him being used and rotated heavily with Horang2, so don't be afraid to select him if you don't think he will appear often.
3) EffOrt
Points earned this round: 37
Games played (as of writing) this round: 13
Possibly the pivotal replacement CJ were looking for their Maestro after Kwanro and Orion failed to show significant results in the Proleague, EffOrt, although possibly expensive to purchase next season, could be your franchise Zerg to work your team around besides Jaedong. Although losing to Bisu, the very close game showed that maybe we will see a new Zerg to rival Jaedong through onto the next year. The only problem point he has? ZvT. If he fixes this out though, he is surely one to pick up if you aren't a fan of Jaedong.
4) sKyHigh
Points earned this round: 25
Games played (as of writing) this round: 9
If you are wondering why the top 10 teams are there, then look no further than the efforts of sKyHigh. The bargain of the season at zero points, he has made crucial wins this season for CJ including against current No.1 Fantasy Player, Leta.
He may cost more when the next round comes around, but he will definitely be worth the points to buy, and his results this round will justify his cost.
5) hyvaa
Points earned this round: 21
Games played (as of writing) this round: 9
hyvaa is a reason why eSTRO has been succeeding so well this season. Match him up against someone not S-Class = Auto-win (bar one exception in Movie). He is the fourth best performing Zerg this season, behind Jaedong, EffOrt and July, and, due to the 'Golden Age of Protoss', with Protosses currently prevailing, watch his price be in the 4/5's next round. He should be playing on rotation with maGma for eSTRO next season.
6) Stats
Points earned this round: 4
Games played (as of writing) this round: 4
You are KTF, you have a reliable Terran in Flash, a reliable Zerg in Luxury, where are the Protosses at? How do you complete the winning formula? With Tempest in the MSL and LuCifer struggling to bring the numbers in, Stats is expected to carry the Protoss load over at the MagicN camp during the next round. Losing to EffOrt, Leta and Mind (in a very close game, I might add) is no shame. Although he has a 0-4 record this round, expect him to be confidently be sent out by KTF.
7) eSTRO
Points earned this round: 13
Games played (as of writing) this round: 9
eSTRO has been a large surprise this round. They have finally have appeared to 'clicked' and are now producing results. They have a solid lineup of UpMagiC and Really for Terran, SangHo and Tester for Protoss and maGma and hyvaa for Zerg. Add in up and coming players such as Suny, Fancy and Melon, and you might have yourselves a perennial Proleague playoff birth this season.
8) ZerO
Points earned this round: 20
Games played (as of writing) this round: 9
If you look at his record this season, it's pretty atrocious. Yes, he lost to a SKT zerg (wow!). Yes he lost to a crappy FOX player. BUT, who else is a good Zerg on Woongjin? Thats where we shall end the argument. It is inevitable that ZerO will be sent out as the Zerg player for pretty much every game for Woongjin. His win against Sea gives me confidence in his ability. Beating a top Terran like Sea is no easy feat. Expect him to surprise many during Round 3.
9) Casy
Points earned this round: 15
Games played (as of writing) this round: 10
Taking a quick peek at ACE's roster, after the departure of ChRh and BoxeR, ACE has been only left with three Terrans, Casy, ClouD and Sunny. Out of these three, who would you pick to represent your team? Casy is an assured starter for the ever-so-struggling Air Force team. But, match him up with a zerg, you can keep your hopes high that he will bring out a win for the team. His problem though is his TvP. It hindered his success during his prime, and it will most likely hinder his success during his military time. During this Golden Age of Protoss, it is your decision whether to risk taking a horrible TvP'er, or take an excellent TvZ'er.
10) Pure
Points earned this round: 11
Games played (as of writing) this round: 8
FOX needs to make a crucial decision here when R3 starts, stick with Rock? Or move on. Rock is appalling these days, so I would go with the latter. The pretty poster boy for WeMade hasn't got much playtime recently due to Rock and HerO, but I expect him to make more performances for the team next round. Fortunately, he should be able to be bought for cheap.
I'd like to stress that these are personal opinions of mine, and due to my crappy Internet, haven't been able to watch Proleague as much as I could a year or two ago.
I tried to model this out of the College Prospects that ESPN etc do, but I've never really read them so blegh.
