| Well, the main purpose of the corp is to provide a gathering place for TLers in EVE. Implementing an "idiocy filter" is counter to that goal. Discouraging idiocy comes from fines and public humiliation and I think the corp does reasonably well with stopping people from being stupid given the open admission. |

This pretty much sums it up. We're a corp for tlers, even the really stupid ones. That means unfortunate things like this will happen, despite our best efforts to stop them. The chat shows that the corp as a whole was extremely competent regarding the WTs, we saw them coming, we knew exactly what they were trying to do and what to do about it. The orders went out and they were very clear. |

Some people have a really hard time with the filter!
It comes down to "Push the red button to continue." If they push the blue button they will probably be stuck where they are forever! No one really knows what happens to those people. It's said the gingerbread men eat them. The rest get to move on. They are promised a journey through the stars upon Kwarks sweet spacemobile, potentially with the top down. What more could you want?

Also, I'd say that the fact that the corp is for a sites members is pretty important. Like Kwark said. Same concept for my corp. You can use a basic filter to keep the super serious dummies out that would ruin everyones fun, but you can't really call it the TL corp if it doesn't let TL players in. EDIT: I should clarify. Making a new account, coming onto our site, and telling us what our goals should be is unacceptable. Don't tell us that we should want a corp with nothing but top-class pilots at the expense of including the slower or less hardcore members of the community.

I heard about what happened the other night with Tao and that struck me as complete bullshit. I dont know who pissed in who's wheaties but that kind of stuff needs to not happen. Especially with members that have been around for a while and are competent. Mistakes happen. As long as they don't continue to happen they are excusable imo. But what happened the other night was completely over the top and I'd have left at that point had I been there as well.

If you have an issue with it then you are free to discuss it with me. Personally my view is that by refusing to own up to a comparatively small offence he wasted a lot of time and was subsequently kicked from the op. When I ejected him from fleet and closed finder then the message should have been pretty clear. My response when he showed up again should have surprised no-one. |

He failwarped. I asked who it was because in a 20 man fleet it can be difficult to tell who is who and he didn't say anything. I asked several times and stressed that I wished him to own up, no reply. Had he said anything there would have been no more about it. Upon manually checking who was there I eventually worked out it was him and tossed him a fine for not admitting it. He didn't pay so I tried to kill his ship. Rather than identify the choice he was faced with he played silly buggers for fifteen minutes, warping around. As a result I kicked him from fleet and closed the finder with intent to proceed without him.
That was going fine until at a later point VoV crashed. We were going into battle at the time so I just reopened finder and told him to rejoin when he could. I was therefore quite surprised to learn that taoi had invited himself back into the fleet and rejoined us after being kicked. It didn't take very long to kill him and didn't especially disrupt the op to do so. As far as I'm concerned that was all there was to the matter. |
