Just recently GOM player doesn't produce any sound when playing an videos I have on my laptop. This problem is only with GOM and not any other player that I have (VLC etc). I am using vista sp1 if that has anything to do with it, so could anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

As puosu suggested, it might be a codec problem. Some file formats have double audio tracks and they allow you to swap between chinese and japanese for instance. These files don't produce any sound if the player/codec does not know how to activate one of these two audio tracks.

Well, i really believe that it is indeed a codec problem, but maybe theres some 64-bit compatability issues with GOM player? I dont use it, so i wouldn't know >>

I've recently been having this same problem. I tried getting the codecs Puosu suggested as well as another pack, but neither worked. Also, various other players still have normal sound. Anyone have any ideas to help?

try updating or uninstalling and then reinstalling audio drivers.

recently i had bad colors and such on gom player, and every other player was fine, then i searched around on google, found out to do what i just mentioned but with my graphics drivers. and it worked.

not saying this is the fix, but worth a shot.

Thank you to REDBLUEGREEN for mentioning the possibility that the "m" key had been accidentally pressed. This was my problem exactly. GOM Player had no sound. Simple solution to a potentially complicated problem.
