WPM - or words per minute - measures your typing speed. I figure most of us on tl.net should have pretty high WPMs. :-) To measure your WPM, go here.
Mine:
Net Speed: 86 WPM (words/minute) Accuracy: 94% Gross Speed: 91 WPM (words/minute)
A few guidelines:
around 30 WPM is the speed of an average internet user. 50-60 WPM is the speed of an average office worker. around 80 WPM plus is the speed of a professional typist. 100 plus WPM is the speed of an advanced professional typist.

| 100 WPM might have been the speed of an advanced professional typist in the 80's, but with people growing up with computers these days, it's nothing special. |

Net Speed: 130 WPM (words/minute) Accuracy: 100% Gross Speed: 130 WPM (words/minute)
I did this test a year or two ago, and it was about 145 WPM with 100% accuracy. Since then I've stopped writing as much so I don't get as much practice simply typing fast. People keep blankly staring at me from across a room at my typing, but it's honestly nothing special. |

I don't think 100 can be the speed of a professional typist >.>. I learned to type this fast just by being on the internet a lot and playing a couple mmo's, I'm sure that many others are the same. |

Yeah, it seems weird that 100 should be "professional typist." That's like... teenage IRC fast, not professional typist fast. |
