Mornin' guys. Just read through the first things that have appeared - interesting.
The title of the painting is "Red Dawn" for reference. The artist is Cathy Jamison, and she's currently in Atlanta. I dunno if this would mean much, I'm new to the game (I followed the last few games, but not hardcore), but I figured it would be worth mention among everything else that comes up.
For those like me who needed a definition for "crepuscular",
Wikipedia: Crepuscular is a term used to describe some animals that are primarily active during twilight, that is at dawn and at dusk.
Usage of the word creep: "Behind Pyrrhuloxia, a figure crept closer." "The mafioso crept behind Qatol and took out his knife."
Possibly points to Zerg icons, as someone said.

Erlend Loe & L
Teks you raise some suspicions here because you are a Loe fan, but there is truth in that afawk, Pyrry wouldn't know that. I think jimtudor is going a bit too far on the picture, but it's something... I dunno though.
Shikyo, I think going off of "I doubt the others would dare to post too much without discussing with the ones who are asleep." is going to work here, because this is a new game. That leaves a lot of wild cards for us.
I won't vote for a mayor who is going to lynch an inactive because like someone else said, an mafia can just echo other people to stay alive, while we risk just killing ourselves. There are a lack of solid clues, but we still have some solid things working here. A couple people come up in multiple clue hits (Teks, Jayme) and depending on what others see come up, we might be able to actually nail one of these guys right off.
|
My main problem with lynching an inactive is we're not going on anything whatsoever. If we lynch someone who is active but we think a day 1 clue might point to them, then at least if it fails to be red we can say we were going off of something. we're not just taking a complete stab in the dark.
|
I do agree that mafia will most likely try and get someone in office though.
|
I'm also waiting to see more people running for office before I vote.
|
It's definitely worth keeping track of all these things even if they seem wild now, it may all come together at one point, and best to be prepared.

The hard thing about this game is that most people are new so there's hardly any behavior analysis to go off of =[ Yeah, it's not very likely that they are all valid clues pointing to the same person, it would make things too easy for a day 1 clue imo. But for each possible clue the chance that one of them is real increases, and this is something we should keep in mind when voting, seeing how he IS running for office (although he mentioned that he didn't check his role before nominating himself).
This is Mafia. He could be lying. We never know.

You seem like an intelligent person, and it seems like you've been following the last few Mafia games. You should know how important activity is for the town, and how lynching inactives nearly always helps the town somehow.
You also should know that there's a good chance of hitting a Mafia by lynching an inactive. So how come you are so strongly against lynching inactives, despire what you've seen and learnt in the past Mafia games? I would love to hear something about this from you.
I was against it (not as much as it seemed) because I thought that this game might sway a bit because of noobie influence. However, I see that we're having inactivity again, so I pretty much rescind that statement.

Pyrr, is it too much work if you had links on the front page for every day and every night, just like Chuiu did in his last game? It's incredibly useful and convenient, so if it's not too troublesome, it'd be great. Or were you going to only include them in the OP? That works too, I just think it'd be useful when trying to find certain posts that happened at a certain time. I'll do it if someone tells me how to link to a post instead of just a page. Or am I supposed to just link to the page?

Let me begin with saying my posts will normally be spread out, and I'll try and be as brief but informative as possible in them, unlike my posts this morning. I've got 3 broken fingers so typing is never fun. Also know that, even though I'm east coast USA, I'm pretty much a night owl. I'll often post after midnight est.
Anyways, onto the game.
I voted for jimtudor as my first choice because I felt he brought a bit more to the table than Shikyo/iLoveKTF. iLoveKTF's only thing was lynching an inactive, no end game plan, and Shikyo's inexperience didn't play to my fancy. Shikyo is the stronger of the two for sure, but compared to jimtudor, with the minimal complete inactivity we have thus far, I think clue analysis is going to be a required skill, and Shikyo even admitted that this wasn't his strong point. It's not mine either, but I'm not running for mayor/sheriff.
Due to the influx of new candidates, I'm going to change to abstaining until I see more info.
We do have a few inactives, and some who voted. I'd like to see them post why they did.
RaYnE - why did you vote for Shikyo? You haven't echoed off in here yet, so I'm definitely curious. Looks like bandwagoning here, but it could be honest. epicdoom - why abstain right off the bat? Again, you have yet to sound off in here, but this strikes me as peculiar.
Shikyo, I hate to echo everyone, but the seemingly bandwagon voting so far does raise some suspicions, as you probably even realized. You do seem to have a good grasp of things, but you've also resorted to insulting the one person who raised a question about you. Not the way to win the hearts of people. We should be objective about everyone we are considering for elected offices, these hold a lot of power.

Shikyo wrote: Hmmm... if a vigi announces their hit in the thread and then hits a green or blue, nothing happens, no one sends them any roles, and they'll essentially be a normal townie, and thus not important for mafia to kill. If vigi hits a red, then he'd become the confirmed townie. There's just the problem of mafia killing him the same night, right after he kills the red... So maybe this plan needs some work. Maybe if he just announced he was going to hit someone that night, and if a red is hit, we should still know who that was. That way mafia doesn't know if he's worth lynching, and his vigi hit would still get through, assuming he sent it before announcing, and assuming that the earlier an action is sent, the more priority it gets. Also, vigis should be hitting only prime suspects, so I doubt that a medic would protect anyone they were supposed to hit. I'm still kind of unsure about this, though.
I think the biggest problem with this is, if the vigi doesn't hit a red, we're screwed. We used our vigi and then we also didn't get a confirmed townie, and we really can't without using rolechecks and dts. Every plan is going to have holes, we just need to figure out how to patch them up.
Also, I think Zeks is a solid platform for mayor, especially with Shikyo being a virtual shoe-in for Sheriff.

Dammit, I'm late. -_-
If we move to lynch an inactive again, I'd like to see clazziquai be part of our options. His lack of posting is seriously raising suspicions for me, considering he's been in prior games. He is somewhat inactive early in other games, but this one seems different - he's been red in one game before and he had a similar streak. Also, he bandwagoned Shikyo and in Mafia 2, he bandwagoned 1st vote, only to end up on some bandwagons later, but early votes. There isn't much clue analysis on him, granted (we only have slumping/Sea.Really for him), so obviously we must wait until day 2 clues come out, but I wanted to make sure we don't make this an oversight.
Congrats to the two elected, and although I was alone with voting for Zeks, I do think we have two solid office members. I'm waiting on the day 2 clues to post more, but I'll be around to actively discuss things throughout the night (OSL FTW).
Sucks I can't update my OSL Ironman stuff

How many people do we want on our medic list? 4? 6? more?
In my opinion, 6 is a good sized medic list, as it has mafia on their toes. If we're 3 medics + 3 non-protected, then they have to guess and take a calculated risk on who to hit, or hit someone who isn't a major deal for us to lose and leave a clue.
|
Gah forgot mine. :p
My list as of now would be:
- vx70GTOJudgexv (if you all approve?)
- teks
- Crate
- zeks
- jimtudor
- iLoveKTF/BWDero (interchangable afais)
I value experience here and iLoveKTF has 3 games experience. Jimtudor has 4, as does BWDero. The others have been providing for the game throughout, and I've been on other lists so I took the liberty of including myself (selfish, I know )

Key word in my statement was if we move to lynch an inactive. Obviously, clue analysis is going to be key, but if we have nothing to work with and we need to go for an inactive again, I was throwing something out there, only because I arrived home too late to push my sway on that one. I think all of it rides on the clues and what we get from them.

JeeJee is Sheriff Shikyo is mayor. We lynched therapy. He flipped green.
Right now, we're discussing medic lists and double lynches.
BTW - we can double lynch tomorrow from my understanding (Day 3) and I think we should vote to do that today (Day 2) when it starts.
From Pyrrhuloxia's original post:
Double Lynch
Usable two times per game, the town lynches two people instead of one. This means on the next day everyone gets two votes to distribute between two different people. The double lynch is activated by voting for it in addition to a player (or players if a double lynch is currently activated). The vote must exceed half the number of players voting that day. IE: If there are 40 players voting then the town needs 21 votes to use a double lynch. Double lynches may be voted on starting Day 2. Double lynches may be used on consecutive days. Players cannot place all of their votes on one player when a double lynch is in effect.
Day 3 will yield even more clues, etc etc. But because (from my understanding) we have to vote the day before to do it, then we'll have to go in semi-blind, ie, not knowing what the clues will yield the next day, anyways. I think the double lynch can be a big plus for us this early.

I can definitely think of someone else who is more important. Just wondering.
Care to share? As far as I saw, the only suspicion on jimtudor was he ran and there was some bandwagoning, but the same could be said for Shikyo as well in that case. Granted, he's an elected, but medic lists were popping up before the elections ended and no one was like "Why is Shikyo on the list?". jimtudor's activity really doesn't concern me personally, because there are even less active people with more pointing at them (Jayme, anyone?).

Pyrry said there were 8 hours left about 6 hours ago, and he was gonna take a 5 hour nap.

Why the back of Softer's neck?? Hmmm...
|
I've got a lot to add here, bear with me.
his stalker whipped him forcefully in the back. Softer flew to the ground - I know he was on a few medic lists, but teks has a picture of a duck "flying" through the air with a rope (which could be used to whip someone). This isn't the first potential clue we've linked to teks, we've also had Zerg (creep), Norway (Erlend Loe). I personally don't think he's a lynch suspect yet, but we should keep an eye on him.
Regarding the sneaking/silent motif - we're getting more signs pointing to Jayme if it's behavioral. Also cats creep. That also puts the Zerg (creep) and the Crepuscular (Cat in profile pick) pointing to him. Also, note that jimtudor said "I wonder who could it be at this hour" signifying it was early, as he was getting ready. Cats are up early. Either that, or with softer it said it was dark, also "cat" hours. Also, Jayme means "He who supplants". Supplant = trip up/cause to stumble.
I did some more background on clazziquai. His name is a Korean indie fusion band, which doesn't help us tonight really (except the creeping theme), but that would tie into the initial "sounding a horn that would not be heard in time." clue and he had the "slumping" clue pointed at him too (#1 Sea.Really fan in sig).
Shikyo got a bit of attention in that he had had tudor on his medic list under some scrutiny, but that's about it.
Some small things I noted (probably nothing but I'm wired on caffeine right now): whip - wurm's sig "I know where my towel is" (Locker room antics, whip with a towel). creeping - so no fek's sig "I lurk tl.net" lurk/hidden etc running - sugiuramidor's sig - "Foolish Brother ... If You Want to Kill Me ... Then Hate, Spite ... and Survive Pathetically. Run and Run ... and Cling Desperately to Life." running night - Ra.Xor.2's sig - Mentions a lot about light and dark, being afraid of light (lurking/mafia afraid to post in day?)
Back of the neck still is haunting me for some reason...
|
Clarification of above post:
"His name is a Korean indie fusion band, which doesn't help us tonight really (except the creeping theme)" - meaning he was just laying low so far.
sorry guys
