Oh last one for now
.hack//sign + Show Spoiler + .hack//Sign follows the story about Tsukasa being mind-trapped into the game. Despite being a "fantasy quest type adventure", it does not rely on action sequences.[3][9] Instead, the show is driven by mystery, slowly revealing its secrets to the viewer while paying much attention to the individual characters.[10][unreliable source?] Questions like what happened to Tsukasa in the real world, who he really is and why he is unable to log out are driving points of the story.[9]
Soon after the beginning of the series Tsukasa is led to a hidden area. There he meets Morganna, depicted as a voice without physical appearance, and Aura, who appears as a young girl clad entirely in white, floating asleep above a bed. The storyline introduces Morganna as an ally, but her real intentions are unknown at this point.
As the story progresses many characters are introduced, some who want to help, some who have ulterior motives. Then more questions arise as to "what is happening in the game itself, who are these various characters, what are their true goals and what will happen to Tsukasa".[9] All the while he is seen struggling with his increasingly dire situation as well as his own social and emotional shortcomings. Tsukasa isolates himself, but eventually he begins to get closer to other players, and builds strong relationships with some of them. The most important is that which is born between him and Subaru, a kind and thoughtful female Heavy Axeman.[9][11]
In the meantime, the anime follows the quest for the Key of the Twilight (黄昏の鍵, Tasogare no Kagi?), a legendary item rumored to have the ability to bypass the system in The World.[12] Some characters want the Key to gain the power this supposedly confers. Others believe the item will provide Tsukasa with a way to log out. Despite their reasons for seeking it, everyone agrees that it is related to Tsukasa in some way, as he is also a factor bypassing the system in the game. His body being in a coma in the real world adds a sense of urgency to the quest.
Near the end of the series Tsukasa's real-life identity takes a more central place in the storyline, particularly in relation to his growing bond with Subaru.[13][unreliable source?][14] The series shows his fear and insecurity as he confesses to her that he is probably a girl in the real world.[14][15][unreliable source?] It is also at this point when Tsukasa is told Morganna's plan by a highly skilled hacker called Helba. Morganna conceived the plan to link Aura to a character who could corrupt her with negative emotional data, placing her in a state where she would never awaken. The chosen character was Tsukasa, as his mind was filled with distressful memories of his real life.[14] Helba also suggests that when Aura is able to awaken, "the Key of the Twilight will take form".[16]
The story reaches its climax when Tsukasa confronts Morganna. Then the viewer sees him declaring that he is no longer afraid of her or of reality, and will log out because there is someone he wants to see.[17] This statement triggers Aura's awakening, allowing Tsukasa to log out. The last scenes feature an emotional encounter between Tsukasa's real-life self, finally shown to be a girl, and the real-life player behind Subaru.
That should be more than enough to keep you busy |

it had a lot of potential IMO. i liked it for weird reasons. last 5-6 episodes were pretty terrible, and a bunch of other stuff pissed me off about that show as well.
i watched it because i always heard about it, it's pretty overrated, but i liked some of it.

| Its how overrated it is that bothers me, as such i never f inished the whole series. Everyone told me it was the best series ever and it failed to deliver, as such I hate it. As for the recommendations, no prob, they are just a bunch of series I enjoy which are more than just dumb comedies for the most part. |

The anime series was good, only except they really screwed up the last few episodes. I'm a big fan of mecha (except Gundam, fuck that shit), so seeing all those big explosions and stuff really made me go nuts :D
The movie is basically a condensed version of the anime series, with better graphics and a bit more detailed storyline (like, in 2.0, there are more details than in the series) |

Evangelion was probably the greatest anime at the time, you shouldn't go in expecting it to be the best anime ever over a decade after it was made if you only watch it around now, especially since there's so much that borrow off it.
Also, eMbrace, I agree with Ecael about not watching Blood+. Few episodes of good in the beginning, snorefest for the rest of the 50 odd episodes.
Kara no Kyoukai is pretty awesome. I think you'd really like Ghost in the Shell, Stand Alone Complex. It's pretty much pure awesome, especially since you liked Ergo Proxy and (part of) Eva. Watch Akira (it's a movie) also, best anime movie ever IMO. Just wiki either of them, I'm not too good with summaries.
The only saving grace of Kaze no Stigma is the fact that the main character is pretty much one of the most awesome main characters ever.
edit: lol@konadora. I hate Gundam also, I don't think I've met anyone else who's ever seen it that way. Last edit: 2009-05-31 13:11:05 |

I just have liked gundam 00, I found it very similarish to code geass which I also like. It was just a darker series than normal |

code geass was good for a while.... but iono - I just got sick of it during the second season. Does anybody know "deep" anime like ghost in the shell and Monster? Or even like Trigun if it kicks that much ass .
Somebody recommended claymore... but it was crap imo. Im tired of anime where the main character is shit the entire way through. He would be like "OMG i need power... Im tired of being the one protected"... then nothing happens. |

Claymore the anime ended differently than the manga as well, the manga is still going on, so that entire war in the north final like, 4-5 episodes is completely diff in the manga, and that kid does get pretty good in the end |

A's is the better of the 3 seasons. But StrikerS is good in its own way. Since this is an anime thread does that mean I get to post pictures of my figures? :D! it's an old picture. I have some more but I dont feel like taking a new one. little more up to date
Wow, you've got that Reinforce II figure. Man I really want one, but it was supposedly really hard to get. And expensive. |
