Slice-of-Life animes have become really popular lately.. and K-ON does really well with that.
If you watch the anime, the animation is really fluid and smooth. Watch the OP and ED videos, they're really nicely done.
The music isn't bad (well, it is about 4 girls starting a band) and the humor is quite funny too!
It reminds me of Azumanga Daioh, which is one of my all-time favorite anime ever. |

Agree with above, though both are pretty much pure action shows. This isn't /a/ so I'll refrain from putting my guns on.
Monster is great psychological/thriller anime. Code Geass is great (but super trollbait), and might fit your tastes too (main character has been compared to Light).

People aren't watching K-ON for it's small slice-of-life... at least none that I know of
Azumanga blows it out of the water comedy-wise and slice-of-life wise. It's just better all around IMO, but I'm really biased against K-ON so take it as you will.

I'm desperately waiting for a subbed version of Eden of the East now. Last week's episode was so good, that after I watched the Saki episode for the week I was basically craving my fix. It sucks only watching two shows at a time, so close together.

| Anyone watching Asura Crying? Sorta hard to make sense of, but likeable characters (main is especially not bad - not a wuss or an overpowered protagonist). The mechas are well-designed IMO. Good mecha = me instant likes. Character designs looked bad at first, but I got used to them. Plot seems decent too, with all the 'souls', 'berial dolls' (it should be burial, but it's spelt berial idk why), 'stabilizers', etc. Also, + Show Spoiler +the previous fight between Shirogane and Kurogane was ;o
Kurogane actually countered Shirogane's space-cutting ability and saved the stabilizer wtf |

Uhm, the thread title is a little misleading...it's more like K-On discussion thread.
Anyway, yeah, not much of a manga or anime person. I only watch when my buddies recommend me some good anime series like Code Geass. I also want to watch Guren Lagan and K-On..maybe during sem break. |
