I'm actually quite disappointed with this announcement from Valve; It hasn't even been a year since L4D (no wonder they never released any f'in content for L4D). I'll update this post once pics/videos come up

I saw it on G4. Despite thinking the game would have almost no content and not be worth $50 I bought L4D anyway and was disappointed. It's not an awful game, it's just worth $20 at best, it's a zombie mod. They've since added no new content, just gave us maps that were already in the game for Versus, and not even a year from release they are announcing a sequel.
When Gabe Newell was saying how games were priced too high in recent news I hope he comes through and makes L4D2 $15 or something. I'm not even gonna think about buying it otherwise |

Fuck this, I bought L4D thinking it would get the same care as TF2 and now this? I love this game but there are so many things which could (should) be added...especially new campaigns. This seems like another milking and it will just split the community.
Of course my rant apply only if L4D2 will be sold for not reasonable price (which 50 bucks is) and if they stopped support for original L4D (which I sort of expect given how "much" they take care of L4D until now). |

| WTF?! I bought L4D about a week after it's release for $39.99 off of Amazon and now there's going to be a sequel?! Thank God, I didn't buy it for like $50 or else I'll be nerd raging right now. I will no longer buy games off of Valve. That company seriously needs to die because all they care about is the money and not the community. I understand that a company needs to make money and all, but look at Blizzard. They care about their community and yet they make a ton of money by listening to what the fans want. Unlike Valve, who makes retarded ass updates for CS 1.6 that no one wants, which all fail btw because it's common for their update to be buggy after release. FUCK YOU VALVE. |

| I've got to say that L4D had its moments but 50 dollars was indeed too much. 20 dollars better fit the value of this game with not that great replay value (once you and your buddies figure out the system) |

This is the 1st time Valve has EVER made a fast sequel. omfg. I mean look at TF2, THEY STILL PUT OUT NEW MAPS AND UNLOCKABLE WEAPONS FOR IT.
After Blizzard, no one treats their customers better than Valve. I mean fuck, Valve has done more to their games than Blizzard actually does (except wow, but thats subscription-based).
I'm sure Valve will have very good reasons to charge for the sequel, and I doubt it will be over 40$. |

Valve doesn't treat their customers that well really. They are usually decent about updating games, but all this episodic content shit has been a 3-4 hour game with a bunch of back catalog shit thrown in or these little 1 hour things like Portal and then they jack up the price to the retail price of a new game. Actually it started since HL2, with the different packages like Silver and whatever else (I don't remember now) that came with DODS (a shit game poorly supported btw) and HL Source (a shit game they didn't even update, it just had source engine physics) and those things justified upping the price to like $80.
They still haven't brought CSS to the orange box engine, DODS is still awful, TF2 they keep shitting on with horrible unlocks and now random drops or something. Atleast they have added a lot of new maps to TF2. Now they have L4D which got absolutely no new content, the DLC was maps that were already in the game, they still haven't given us the SDK etc.
Valve doesn't treat their customers much differently than anyone else they just have a lot easier means of rolling out updates to their games with steam
