This thread has truly expired, past no return. It's become a subjective argument about whether this gag was justified by April Fools , or totally uncalled for. Personally, I think it was crossing the line and not cool. I don't see anyone laughing but the people who were in on it. Just seems like the Mods should read it, pass judgement and close the chapter.

Y'know, I thought that one was pretty well done. The execution wasn't perfect, I could tell it was clearly a joke, but it obviously wasn't bad. If it was bad enough that nobody fell for it, it would have just been a weak April fool's troll, instead of a reasonably funny prank.
If people are offended because they got their hopes up over something that should have been obvious on April first, that's kinda on them. No reason to go backseat moderating in an effort to get the thread closed.
Now had that been done on any other day, I would, in fact agree that lines were crossed. But it's NOT like people don't know what to expect on April first. |

There really is some useful conversation going on in there between the geniuses that can't grasp that there's a difference between gender and sex. I just went to report someone like two seconds after they posted, and by the time the post loaded in my report dialog, they'd already been banned.
