I'm sorry to hear that Chris.
My mom was in a car accident about 8 years ago where some lady was balancing her checkbook while waiting at a stoplight. My mom was turning left on the side of oncoming traffic and had the right-of-way, and this lady just wasn't paying attention and I think she asked her small child in the passenger seat if the light was green (who then said it was). Anyway my mom's Oldsmobile Toronado, given to her by her former boss, was totalled. I was in 8th grade at the time and the office called me up to tell me, and I was shocked. Thankfully my mom wasn't hurt. If she was in a smaller car (those Oldsmobiles are huge) things may have turned out differently.
There were three other incidents where people I knew got into accidents - my best friend had a similar situation as my mom forcing him to swerve into a ditch with a car he had just purchased 24 hours prior, and my ex-fiancee got into two small skiffs in her school parking lot. Thankfully they were not hurt either.
The latter instances weren't so worrying for me because the first time I heard about them was from the people affected. When my mom got in that accident and the school secretary told me what happened, I just froze. So while things turned out better than they could have, for those brief moments (before I heard she was ok) I was in your position. It may not be much but that's the best I can relate.
Again, sorry to hear about this.Last edit: 2003-12-22 12:10:00 |

| sure no one deserves to die for no reason. but dont tell me driving 95-105 mph on a snowy day is just "stupid" its reckless and endangering many other lives. He might be dead cuz he was being reckless, but what if it killed and injured 20 other more? And sorry for misunderstanding you Maddux. May the girl rest in peace T.T, |

| Ya..u don't really realize things until u get into a car accident...i consider myself a good driver..i speed alot on the highways but i used to always tell my self unlike other fuckers who drive insanely fast, i was capable of doint it cuz i kne what i was doing...well after my 1st accident i realized its not that ur good, its that theres always a stupid irresponsible driver sharing the road with u, keep that in mind. for example at a red lite i used to neva look when it turned grren for me, i just went cuz it was green and according to the law i can go when its grren...well whut if some drunk stupid mothafucker is running a red?? oh well...it mite sound like the things im sayin are no brainers but trust me we all do it..i've been in 3 accidents and none were my fault but i could have avoided them all if i was careful enuff and acknoledged the fact that not everyone is a good driver like i am..not to sound cocky just makin a point |

well just about 6 months ago (6-23) my best friend and his cousin who is also a friend of mine died in a car accident, not because they were speeding, but because a dumbfuck cut them off on the freeway. my friend lost control and they swerved onto those thick freeway exit posts.
though it may not mean much, chris, send my regards to the grieving family. hope you guys are able cope with your tragic loss. |

| My condolences Chris. I believe not only should the driving test requirements be increased, but fines for drunk driving, reckless driving and speeding should be increased tenfold. No appointment or deadline is worth someone's life. I also think you should be forced to give up your keys when you go to a bar. These are not end-all solutions, but they would certainly help. |

I don't feel bad for anyone who speeds and dies or drives while drunk or high and dies. still sucks for their friends tho!
and in europe it's 18 most places I think, but I think it should be like 40 or something more buses less cars wee

| Any one who is willing to speed on ice is willing to die. They were ready for it, so they took the risk. No one in their right mind would put their life in danger like that. They probably didn't even consider other motorists or what danger they put everyone around them in. |

There was a guy whom i met at some party in malmö (sweden). Well he was drunk, had just sniffed cocaine. Took his parents bmw. drove on the freeway at around 220 km/h - he got caught under a truck, adn died that very moment.
i used take my moms car out for a drive. a friend and myself thought that we were excellent drivers, well we eventually crashed. and let me tell you its until something happens that you realise how stupid it really is. i mean i was drive at around ~150 km/h om a 50 km/h road. imagine if i would have hit a child or something. i mean i dont even have a drivers licence and still i find that "hey this driving buissnes isn't that hard". It was my friend that crashed my mothers car, she was in france for 3 weeks.

| A friend of mine was dui´ng 2 years ago with some frinds in the car. He crashed into a tree, one friend broke legs and jaw. Another friend fell into a coma and still hasnt awaken from it. He suffered no injury at all but having a friend in a coma because of himself, ooo thats gotta be a hard burden. |

| I think driving age and drinking age should be reversed. You cant expect young people to be responsible enough to drive a car. |

| A family that i knew crashed about 4 years ago into a big truck. The father, the mother and a 12 year old girl died. The only one who survived was a 17 year old girl. Imagine the girl losing her parents and sisters just like that. I was quite shocked that time. |

| I played tennis for L'anse Creuse High School North, I decided not to play in college because we had no official teams. I didn't really give much information in my post and I seen some similarities that kinda surprised me. First, they were driving back from an away basketball game, which I seen someone else say. The kids were also both sixteen, the kid only had his license for a month. Some kids never really have a chance to practice driving in snowy or icy conditions, so a little bit of immaturity and bad luck can result in death pretty easily. The other accident my friend was going for a pass during a thunderstorm, which should be pretty obvious not to do. Then when shifting back into the lane the car swerved and the truck they were passing smacked into the side of them. Seems some kids don't get the practice they need or are just too immature to drive at sixteen. I know the two were best friends in both instances and a little bit of speeding sounded "cool" to do, and that resulted in their deaths. Last edit: 2003-12-22 18:36:50 |

Yes it was the fault of them for speeding when the driving conditions were so shitty. It was easily preventable and really shouldn't have happened. The person in the other car was treated for minor injuries, and another car was somewhat in the accident, and again only minor injuries. The circumstances don't matter too greatly though, someone died.
I didnt say any of that, sir. |

I didn't claim that you said anything aside from the fact of what rain posted in the previous post. Something to the effect of "People who speed deserve to die." The rest of the post isn't based on that, sorry if you misunderstood what I had posted.
Also I don't know if he was talking about you or that website, or if you're one and the same. Am I confused here?Last edit: 2003-12-22 18:39:41 |

| Ok sorry I made a big mistake, I thought they were referring to that website of some asshole guy. I wasn't mocking you or what you had to say. I was mocking "The Best Page in the Universe" because that guy is named Maddux and I didn't see your previous post. You have the right to thing what you did, I was just confused 8-( |
