I just installed windows 7 and starcraft was running smooth and fine ezpz. Just now, it's been starting to go out of whack, with the stupid colors turning all weird and stuff. I have these checked
- disabling visual themes
-desktop composition
For everyone who has windows 7 and starcragt, what problems have you guys ran into so far? |

| If the colors are getting messed up, try lowering the visual presentation to 16 bits from other sizes (32, 64). If you get messed up colors then it tends to be caused by conflicting color technologies. Starcraft was made around 10 years ago so our current standard of 32 bit doesn't work as well with 16 bit that SC runs on. If that doesn't work then it's something about Windows 7's inherent issues. Keep a backup of XP or Vista incase. |

| Actually i have had sc playing on W7 since the beta first came out and I did have this problem after a while but it is fine now, i dont think i did anything to fix it either so im not sure what advice to give you. |

Right Click on the Starcraft executable, or direct access.
Properties
Go to "Compatibility Mode"
Set all the compatibility options ON, Use it in Win 98 mode.
Right click on your desktop
Choose "screen settings" or some option like that. It's where you choose the resolution.
LEAVE THAT WINDOW OPEN
Run Starcraft. Enjoy
Colors may go crazy if you alt-tab, but alt-tabbing some more seems to fix it. |

| Well this is reallywweird problem because it's also triggered by pausing the game. This all started because this guy paused the game. I unpaused and it went away for like 20 seconds then came back |

There´s been shitload of threads about this.
There´s two main problems:
1. colors messed up, works if you tick all the boxes in the compability mode.
2. game crashes a lot, maybe that win 98 mode takes this away I´m not sure but I´ve tried xp mode and it didn´t help. my current Iccup account is something like 3-13 and atleast half of the losses have been due to the crash. Really gets on your nerves when you´re rollin your opponent with 24 BC´s.( happened atleast 4 times :S) |

I have the colors problem but it's only in the menus. It's fine for in game. The main problem that i have and i would LOVE if anyone could find a fix is why my autoreplay doesn't work. I tried the fix they posted on liquipedia and it didn't work.

God yeah this is so painful...was happening to me 1 of every 3 games but now it just seems to have stopped, idk why. |

My graphics card was not supported by win7 so I had to use the generic driver but that didn't let me run anything more than a youtube video. So in my experience win7 = no starcraft. More accurately though, my laptop was good....4 years ago, so I bet you can have better luck than I. |

| My game used to alt tab a lot, but I put on compatability mode and since then it's been fine. Strangely, I get terrible fps in D2 in Win 7. Win 7 no like glide. |
