His mouse accuracy is incredible and everything about this play is super smooth. He does get supply blocked a bit but so does Puma - who cares. Honestly, I do think he can tap more often. It would explain why his macro's passable, but not necessarily great. If you watch the FPOV of a macro beast like, say, Bomber, you'll see him just neurotically tapping through all his control groups whenever he's not really doing anything, and it's really why he's so goddamn amazing with his macro.
However, I do find that Polt's play reminds me of how Grubby played in War3 compared to all the other top-tier players: very slow and methodical but still highly effective/efficient because of his mouse accuracy and general know-how.
Anyways, my initial remark about his APM wasn't meant to be particularly disparaging or anything. Just a really boring observation, haha. I like seeing the different habits/styles of different pro players. It's always fun to try to find little tics (e.g. MKP control-grouping a bunch of SCVs at the beginning of a game just in case he needs to mass-repair, Moon's spamming of the alt key despite playing with all health/status bars on simply because of his extensive War3 background, etc.).

His APM tends to be lower because he came from a WC3 background and from what I can tell he seems pretty confident/calm/relaxed when cycling through his buildings. It does go up when he plays more challenging players, otherwise he casually dominates the NA ladder.
There's a difference between APM (actions per minute) and EAPM (effective actions per minute). In a nutshell EAPM is basically APM but it excludes useless/needless actions. I believe Polt's APM isn't inflated because his EAPM is more efficient than some of the Korean pros who cycles through their units every time.

Besides you don't really need insane APM to play at the highest level of play. Savior had one of the lowest APM in BW at the time but he dominated the scene as a bonjwa. Their play styles are obviously different but the general idea can be applied to any other pros.

this was quite a wtf game vs this pioliq or what guy

Please sign me up. Polt has easily one of the best streams. He does so much for his audience too. Taking music requests and whatnot. It shows he truly cares.

I can't imagine how scary it is to play ladder randomly and then get matched up against a GSL winner.

hehe spanishwa vs polt now!

Tapping is effective, sure, but I've never seen a problem with polt's APM. His multitasking is pretty decent, his macro is good and his resources stay low and he doesn't queue units. Is he gonna be able to pull off the multi drops that MMA does? Probably not, but I don't think that him not tapping is causing him to be any worse of a player than he would be.

Anyone find fishy about Polt's stream today? He's still good, but seems play quite differently from yesterday. Bank up a lot of money, never do multitasking, keep making very obvious misjudgments ... His stream for the past two days definitely indicates his code S skills, yet today he is just like a normal NA highmaster-grandmaster terran. No idea what happened to him. Or are we being trolled???

Polt's stream is quite fun. Just annoying how people are taking every game so seriously. If he tries to do go all mech in a game because someone suggested it for fun, and he loses, half the channel bashes him for losing to a non-Korean.

uh i hope you realize he streams for fun and probably is playing to relax and chill. he also streams right after he wakes up in the early morning. i doubt this is his practice like alot of other players(hence him playing on the NA server).

He's just having fun. If he wanted to win all his games and go something like 100-7, he probably could by just 1-1-1'ing and going full bio against toss, using his bio against zerg, and playing his usual bio (with maybe some tanks thrown in) TvT style.
He uses the NA ladder to have fun with the foreign scene and do funny builds in the morning. He's one of the nicest streamers I've seen, asking politely even if he can go eat breakfast for an hour.

I can't believe I get to watch my hero stream hahaha Except I'm putting off my 2 assignments due today to do so..
Worth it..

Polt asks his fans what server they want him to stream on, most say Korea, he then marches onto the KR server and presents us with an epic slugfest against CheckPrime Good times!

Polt's streaming again. So manner, he didn't realize that commercials took time an didn't show the stream for 30 seconds so he asked for permission to show them and everyone of course said to after each game and that we want to support him. Most streamers just spam commercials but he asks if it is okay if he shows one. What a boss.
Polt's stream has really won me over. I didn't really pay attention to him other than I knew he was good, but this stream has made him one of my favourite players, and I don't even play Terran.

Got to love Polt! Asking if it is ok to put commercials! every one inn the chat is saying do it after every game! Interacting with chat! many streamers has a lot to learn from Polt! Always been one of my favorite players, but now i just like him more and more! such a nice guy and such a good player! hope he will make a long run inn November a player that shows his appreciation of the community deserves that!

This is my favourite Terran stream along with Demuslim's. Polt is the man.

Polt's GSL November group is
GanZi Ensnare Leenock Polt
...seems like a fairly easy group should 2-0 or at least 2-1 it

Leenock has very good ZvT, but Polt has a good chance.
I think he'll advance.

Yea, I really don't see Ganzi or Ensnare beating him, so he would have to have 2 losing games against Leenock, which is possible, but a lot of things would have to go against him for that to happen.

Agreed. If Polt goes 2-1, his loss will be to Leenock.
