Hey guys,
So I have Xsplit. Free. I like streaming things here and there, but xSplit beta is coming to an end (there will be a free xsplit final, but obviously it lacks features). Also, xSplit free doesn't come with game source, which I would like.
My question is, which FREE streaming software is the best? I want one that can capture games so I can alt tab of the game and still have it focused to the game.
Thanks

XSplit is about as good as it gets. I guess DXtory + FME is the next closest thing but you sacrifice quality and overlays and lots of other features and it still isn't free.

you can stream with vlc as encoder using screen-capture-recorder-program (you can find that on github) as directshow input, then ffmpeg to wrap the resulting udp into a rtmp stream to feed own3d/twitch/randomwowzaserver/etc... (dont need ffmpeg for wowza though as you can feed it directly with an mpeg-ts udp stream)
there you go, 100% free. however it comes with drawbacks: you stream your screen, that's it. no fancy switch to scene1 or scene2, you stream what you see on your screen. also you dont get an one-button-click solution, configuration of a setup like this is not for the lolclickyesihavenoideawhatimdoing user.
works perfectly fine for me
