You know, it strikes me as odd... why is a contest that has mostly children participating
...opening its doors at 12am at night? Do you know bats?
You wont find the answer that way lil guy
Oh you're a calender, for a while there I mistook you for a real boy!
Oh alright, i just showed up here in the middle of the night because I needed a stroll, what a coincidence.
Sounds easy enough.
I dont understand why this keeps surprising you. Its me, Br- err... Pokemon Master Extraordinaire!
Ooh, I'm not so sure. I mean he is the dark knight, but those are some big insects
Is it guys? Or who should I use?
|
Batman has a good type to face bug / grass stuff so he should be fine
Also he'll evolve to golbat in lvl 22 afaik so you gotta train him some
|
Imo SteveIrwin! But anything goes.
|
Alright iplay posted first so im going with The Goddamn Batman
I find a hair out of place on any of em and I'll feed your hands to steve
20? What a ripoff. I waste more balls in a single pokemon fight. Pisses trainers the fuck off.
Seems fair
Well, lets make like the asians and chomp on some bugs
hmmmmmmmm no.
Uh, maybe? What do you think?
|
Scyther would be the best imo. Scizor is just... the shit.
EDIT: Dat Gengar... Why are all his moves physical? Sucker Punch is physical, shadow punch is physical, the other 2 don't hit in the first place. Get Shadow Ball and Dream Eater for him and start rolling.
|
I already have scizor though, and I'm not sure how to get dream eater/shadow ball for gengar D: I may have evolved him too early to learn them maybe, not sure. Any tips on getting those moves? But first things first, should i skip the futterbly?
|
I think Buttefree and Beedrill are the more middle tier bug pokemon you can catch--I think you should wait for one of the stronger bug pokemon to pop up; Scyther, Heracross, Scizor.
EDIT: you CAN catch Scyther and Pinsir in Bug catching contest iirc
|
Gengar learns shadow ball @ lvl 33, and dream eater @ lvl 39, so that shouldn't take too long.
Imo catch the futterbly and then try to go for a better one if you still can, but that's just me. :p
E: Haunter would have learned them at the same levels. So no difference there.
|
You can actually catch a scizor? Holy shit. But I already have a heracross
REAACCHH
|
Also, butterfree + beedrill + pinsir + scyther all have a 5% chance of appearing for you currently, with butterfree and beedrill equal and pinsir and scyther slightly more valuable in the contest afaik, so a butterfree isn't that bad if you don't happen to catch a scyther or pinsir after.
|
Alright, gonna go hunting for pinsir. I dont remember If I have one yet or not
This is one badass insect, down to red life, confused, and STILL fought off 3 sports balls. Respect.
|
SON OF A-
Well, the results are in... I DIDNT EVEN PLACE?!?
I'LL KILL YOUR FAMILY
Not goddamn likely. What a rip.
Should I keep it and name it and call it my own?
|
|
Alright! so what do we call him?
|
Call him ButterJail or MayoPrison or other similar bullshit
|
|
btw, if you weaken the pokemon's HP down, your score is gonna be lower than say if you catch it at full HP.
|
He should be the MafiaBug -> Godfather! :D

Scoring
The score earned for a given Pokémon in Generation IV is the sum of the following: The level of the Pokémon relative to the maximum that can be found in the contest (eg. before the National Pokédex, the value for Paras would be 17, but after the National Pokédex, this would be 34), as a percentage The Pokémon's IVs relative to the maximum (186), as a percentage The Pokémon's health relative to its maximum, as a percentage A rarity factor, either 60 (Caterpie, Metapod, Weedle, Kakuna, Wurmple, Silcoon, Cascoon, or Kricketot), 80 (all Pokémon not mentioned), or 100 (Scyther and Pinsir) Other factors, such as shininess, do not affect the outcome.
^ For the exact point system.
