Gameplay
1. The exact MLG Map version must be used for all Games. 2. Players found to have chatted about companies, sponsors, or products during a Game will be given a Foul. Players found to have chatted excessively during a Game will be given a Foul. Language used in in-game chat will be governed by the Pro Circuit Conduct Rules. Players who receive 3 Fouls in an Open Online Qualifier and qualify for their Region’s Invite-Only Online Qualifier will lose their first opportunity to choose the next Game’s Map in that Invite-Only Online Qualifier. Each subsequent Foul that a Player receives will result in the loss of another opportunity to choose the next Game’s Map in that Invite-Only Online Qualifier. 3. Any sign of cheating may result in a Forfeit of the Game and/or disqualification from the Online Qualifier. 4. The Map for Game 1 of all Best of 3 Games Matches will be chosen by a series of vetoes. Players must alternate vetoing one Map, starting with the lower seeded Player, until there is only one Map remaining (the Game 1 Map). Each Player’s first Map Veto will stand as a Map that can’t be chosen for Games 2 or 3. If a Match is expanded to a Best of 7, Map Vetoes are no longer taken into account. 5. The loser of a Game must select the Map for the next Game. When Best of 7 Games Matches are resumed, the loser of the previous Match must select the Map for the first Game. 6. No Map may be played more than once in the same Best of 3 Game Match or Best of 7 Game Match. 7. No Map will be considered as having been used in a Game that is Forfeited according to General Rules #2. 8. Both Players may switch their Race after each Game. 9. No warm-up or practice Games are permitted once the Match’s first Game has begun. 10. Players who are disqualified prior to the start of a Game will not be allowed to play in the Game. Players who are disqualified during a Game must quit out of the Game. Players who are disqualified won’t receive any benefits (seeding, prize, etc.) for their ranking in the Event. Such Players may also be subject to a Temporary Ban from MLG’s Network of Websites and/or a Ban from a future Pro Circuit Event(s). 11. The higher seeded Player must host all Games in a Match 12. Only Tournament Officials may connect to a Game as an observer. Inviting someone other than a Tournament Official to observe a Match will result in a Warning. Each subsequent Warning that a Player receives will result in a Forfeit of the Game. 13. If a Player loses their connection to the Host during the first minute of a Game, and then the in-game disconnect timer reaches 0, the Game must be replayed. If a Player loses their connection to the Host after the first minute of a Game, and then the in-game disconnect timer reaches 0, the disconnecting Player will Forfeit the Game. 14. Bracket Format [list][*]There will be 3 Open Online Qualifiers in the Spring Season (Europe, Korea/Taiwan, and North America). [*] Players finishing in the top 8 in each Spring Open Online Qualifier will be invited to participate in the same region’s Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier. [*] The Spring Open Online Qualifiers will each support as many as 128 Players. [*] The Spring Open Online Qualifier Brackets will be separated into a Winners Bracket and a Losers Bracket. After losing a Match in a Winners Bracket, Players will enter a Losers Bracket. A Match loss in a Losers Bracket will result in elimination from the Event.
Match Format
All Matches will be Best of 3 Games unless the Players have already played each other in the Spring Open Online Qualifier.
If Players are scheduled to play each other for a 2nd time in a Spring Open Online Qualifier, their Match will expand to a Best of 7, include the previous Match, and pick up where that Match left off. For example, if Player A beat Player B 2 Games to 0 in the Winners Bracket, the Best of 7 will resume with Game 3 and Player A leading 2 Games to 0.
Seeding
Players will be seeded based on the following criteria in this order: Winter Online Qualifier Standings and 2011 Starcraft 2 Pro Circuit Rank Points. If Winter Online Qualifier Consolation Matches were played, they may be used to break ties. Ties may also be broken using the next available criteria or randomly. Players who failed to finish in the top 32 of a Winter Online Qualifier, and have no 2011 Starcraft 2 Pro Circuit Rank Points, will be seeded randomly.
The Winter Online Qualifiers’ Final Standings separate Players as follows: 9th Place, 13th Place, 17th Place, and 25th Place.
The performance of Players finishing in the top 8 in each Spring Open Online Qualifier will be used to determine their seed in their region’s Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier. The performance of Players finishing 9th-32nd in each Spring Open Online Qualifier will be used to determine their seed in the Spring Championship Starcraft 2 Event.

Do you already have a replacement for Naniwa? He is going to Dreamhack.
The competitor lists, including any replacements, will not be made available until much closer to the event.
And why is that if i may ask?
Registration for the Championship event does not end until June 4th, so the player list cannot be released until after that date. However, the pools, including any replacements that are made in pools, are typically released a couple of weeks earlier than the rest of the competitor list.

I dont think he is talking about the Championship, but the First Arena.
Why would the Championship sign ups prevent us from knowing, who is going to play in the First Arena?

Do you already have a replacement for Naniwa? He is going to Dreamhack.

He is talking about the 8 man arena coming up in april. I assume it will just go down the columbus ranking order?

Thanks for posting that. I apologize for the confusion. I assumed you were referring to the Spring Championships.

hehe no np, like others already said i was wondering about Spring Arena 1 cause it's only like 2 weeks away and Xoronius's question was about Naniwa's replacement for Spring Arena 1 but thnx for clearing that up.
North American and European Open Online Qualifier passes are still being sold. They will only be available until April 9th at 12th respectively, so get them while you can. Top 8 in each OQ will get an invite to Invite Only OQ to play for a spot in the Arena 2 where you can win $$$.
