Anyway, the job that progamers are supposed to be doing at the air force intelligence center is helping to design combat simulators or something (erg, there was a topic a week back; edit: thus making use of their skills/talents supposedly...probably in better fashion than being a grunt anyway). That's not really frivolous, but I think there would be some more qualified for that job--but then again, those people wouldn't be in the military now, I guess. Anyway, in general, wouldn't the air force intelligence center have real work like tracking North Korean activities or something? ~_~
Yeah the U.S. has a football team in the army I trust? xD

omg yes:D
would be great to see him play against his own team:D

PFC Boxer Fighting~! Airforce Intelligence! Here's where that dropship/wraith micro comes in handy!

I heard that basic training is supposed to get a dude in shape and prepare him for other parts of the military. how does 6 months get someone in shape? Even if it's exercise day and night, can the human body build muscle that quickly? If that is true, then basic training is awesome, and I'll figure out how to go do it without risking getting sent to Iraq.

Man, it'd be so awesome if Boxer was able to make it back into the MSL. That's definately a winnable group for him, what with there beingt 2 Z's in it .

Without having gone through that (read: the following is conjecture), I'd still point out that basic training = basic. The guys that come out of 6 weeks aren't your most feared troops. You're not going to start from scratch and come out a Navy Seal or something more hardcore.

OMG! Inverse Temple is like the second coming of Requiem. I can't wait to see some games on that.

Maybe they made Inverse Temple just for Boxer's comeback?... All those cliffs are a Terran's wet dream eh?

OK I would like to point out that US military academy sports teams are not the same as Korean military teams.
US military academy sports teams are college teams. They are registered with the NCAA (American college sports governing body) and they play against other college teams.
Korean military teams are teams where Korean professional level athletes can maintain their training while serving their mandatory military term. For these athletes, they have to go to the military but they would lose two years of precious training. The military lets them train and maintain competitive by having military sports teams.
This is done with all kinds of sports, from obscure olympic sports (ping-pong) to popular pro team sports (military baseball team/soccer team)

I'm joining Chinese airforce asap. Fuck, communist T.T

I d love watching Boxer knocking down his own team SKT1!
Finally boxer in army can create something big in the progaming scene ^^

In all honesty, HonestTea's right, yeah. As big as college sports are, they're not profesional--the cases they almost come close aren't in military teams anyway.

It will be fun to how much of the skill is preparation, and how much is just pure talent. Anyone know more or less how much time he can spend on sc?

9's Min Only looks bad -_-;; It looks like it will be slower than the other min onlies. Gay.
And I don't care whatever, i wanna see Boxer back asap so this is good enough.

Oh hell ya charles.
I don't see this as bad... He gets to serve his country and fulfill his dream of being the first progamer to 30.
Nice!

If you were "the army", how would you "use" an exceptional strategic talent? In the mud or in some strategic intellicence center? I'm sure his special treatment has to do with some image polishing on the armys side but they'll still profit immensely if they only manage to implement a fraction of Boxers knowledge and talent.

Either way, I still can't wait to see it in play.
