+ Show Spoiler +Hey everybody! It's early early in the morning, but our first post-release patch just went live. We have a list of other stuff we will be doing in upcoming patches, but we wanted to get one out ASAP to fix some initial issues-
Here's the goods!
STABILITY *Fixed a potential crash bug when applying affixes and effects in certain circumstances *Fixed rare crash when turning in quest in the Undercurrents. *Put in protection against character save file corruption. Corrupted characters will not appear in the list of characters. (And thus can't cause the game to crash on load)
SKILLS *Fix for Berserker geyser proc showing up as a mappable skill. *Fix for triggering Shocking Burst and Arc Beam out of range while hitting shift that could cause chain casting. *'Resist Slow' affix fixed. *Proc affixes scale better with player level. *Berserker 'Wolf Shade' now has the (intended) 60 second cooldown applied to all ranks. *Fix for mistriggering when chaining two skills together when there is an early hit-frame. *Safety check to stop any looping skills that get stuck in the 'on' state when the character is not performing a skill. *Fixed bug with 'Poison Burst' procs (they should properly engage at more distant ranges). *Fix for potential issue when units would queue removed/unavailable skills. *Fix for having more than 100% reduction to charge decay or a negative flat charge decay.
PERFORMANCE *Made significant optimizations to particle collisions.
SYSTEMS *Fix a bug when recalculating the price on objects to make sure the calculation is based on the correct data. *Fix for bug where rapid clicks could misspend stat points. *Removed access to console commands in multiplayer games. *The game's login dialog now correctly allows passwords up to 64 characters long. *Removed display of other users' IP addresses in multiplayer games. *Removed Steam Cloud toggle in the settings file (it didn't do anything); the ability to toggle is available in the Steam client. *Removed logging for achievements to potentially reduce some FPS drops for some users.
LEVELS/SCRIPTING *Tweaks to various areas to prevent units from getting stuck. *Changed lootable rocks to be non-colliding as they could occasionally block very narrow corridors. *Fixes to some level scripting logic in the Frosted Hills. *Fixed a bug that could cause multiple Tower of the Moon entrances to appear in the world. *Implemented a few specific boss room pathing fixes.
ACHIEVEMENTS *Fixed friends list based achievements. *Spell-learning achievements now don't incorrectly trigger based on other players.
MINOR *Fixed several typos. *Improvements to journal tooltips.

When I have my gloves equipped, with a monster in range, I have less damage reduction than when I have my gloves not equipped. From what I can see, it is actually a NEGATIVE effect, which really doesn't make any sense. I would imagine I would take LESS damage when monsters are in range, not more.

So THAT explains why I've been in-inexplicably 1-shotted while using the "-4.5% Physical Damage Taken for each monster within 3m" set.

Pseudo-"Easter Egg" since I don't want to spoil the real ones... if you look at the data (probably when we release the editor), the internal name for one of the Berserker frenzy type abilities is Metabolic Boost. I forget which other references I snuck in besides that and Spider Mines, Adrenal Glands might be one of them, too.
Sorry Novalisk!

What a fantastic game. I really love the open areas with plenty of dungeons and secondary quests.
The classes, at least the one I've played, are insane and I'm so motivated to play on to get to the higher skills. I also love the items, uniques everywhere, cool attributes, pet-items that make your pet really viable...
Just an awesome game!
My engineer (elite, hardcore) is at level 15, my Embermage (normal) is at level 22.

Thank you! My ears were bleeding
Back to TL2: I gambled and bought like 6 rings and 2 amulets from the vendor (with ???) and 5 of them were unique, altough no one was usable by my character :/

Sorry Novalisk! Was there any thought to making the gunbot and sledge bot not have a limited duration? As a constructor, it's a pain to continually have to respawn them. I think the damage on them should be reduced though, gunbot annihilates everything in his path lol.

Ahh, I assume you are gonna max out all the bot skills, so I'll talk about the rest. Spider mines are awesome, like really really awesome. There are times in big bosses that I don't do much damage and my gunbot expires so I'm only relying on them for damage while running around shooting trashmobs. You can have them presummoned prior any fights to regen all that mp back as well. I also use the shock grenade whish is excellent for crowd control, it has a high chance of stunning and with 1 charge you drop 3 of them. I also use forcefield for that shield buff, I still don't know if that applies on bots on high tier and if it does then it's a staple skill for the roboengi build.
As for the passives I'm only taking the armor one from the construction tree, you may use the 2nd one which gives +dmg to fire and lightning if you plan to use both shock grenades and fussilade.

I am doing Summon Engineer with my gf, who also doing summon Engineer.
Heal Bot + Gun Bot + Sledgebot + Spider Mine
Passive is Bulwark + Aegis of Fate ( Forcefield is great but Aegis of Fate sorta canceled out each other )
Other spells: Summon Archer + Summon Skeleton + Summon Blood Zombie + Summon Nether Imp
On pet: Summon Archer + Summon Skeleton + Summon Nether Imp + Animal Handling
We found a bunch of these Summon copies during act 2 and 3 ( Veterans ). Now we are rolling this with Gun Bot/Slegdebot rotation on Elite. I just have to say, we wrecked everything.

I'm a dev over at Runic Games, so I'm super psyched to see a lot of you having fun :D For those of you who are a bit let down, hopefully the price tag alleviates some of the disappointment. A lot of the criticisms and suggestions for improvement are great, and we do listen, but we can only fit so many of them in!

I'll drop by to answer questions when I can, but mostly I'll be trying to fix all the stuffs. Thanks again for playing! :D :D :D
Questions? One does not question greatness, only enjoys it.
This is one of those games where you will have a sense of pride knowing you were there on release! Instant classic imo, Runic really hit the nail on the head for everything missing and wrong with modern RPG's. You guys proved that the ARPG philosphy was off-track and steered the ship back where it belongs. Everything from different builds with choice and customization to useful, meaningful, and diverse stat point points in a wonderfully randomized setting where the challenge feels fair and fun- not cheap, and proved the deniers wrong where so many dumbed down RPG's have plagued us for too long!
If you want a question; y u so awesome Runic?

I was having a great time, then the patch emptied my shared stash.
Kind of hard to keep playing knowing my progress might just be wiped out due to poor QA at any moment.

Eh, I finished the game as an Embermage going full focus on Veteran, are you playing on Elite?
In NG+ I'm pretty much pumping 100% stam, it's still pretty easy on Veteran even if I'm 4-5 levels below the monsters. I do get 1 shot by bosses if I play on Elite though. I'm sure if you go 1:1 Focus/Vit you won't be 1 shot even in Elite.

I've downloaded the game to see if it's worth the money.
I pretty much enjoyed Diablo 3 until I killed Inferno Diablo. Never really went for a grinding item hunt.
Now with torchlight II , i dont see how this game could be any better than diablo 3 ?
first off, the controls. The first thing your character does when you move it is sliiiiiiiiiiiding to the SPOT. The walking anymations and a lot of other animations are CRAP in this game. The textures are even worse than diablo's (didnt think that was possible, when i saw diablo 3 the first time). The game looks overall like a mod for League of legends.
The font ingame looks like from a game 10 years ago. Also dialoges. I couldnt stand to play it longer than a few hours.
So tell me, what does this game do to make it better than diablo3, for you? Because I dont see it

So you dislike the game and you want us to convince you it is a good game? That is your opinion and we respect your opinions. Even if i typed out a bunch of stuff to praise TL2, you gonna just nitpick everything I said. If you dont like it, you are not gonna like it. Stop trying to lure us into an Internet debate.

From the patch notes:
*Fix for mistriggering when chaining two skills together when there is an early hit-frame.
Fuck yeah. Hope this also applies to weapon swap. That shit just won't trigger in the middle of intense fights.

no one says animations and graphics are better than d3 in tl2. important things in a hack and slash/arpg are items, stats and monsters not graphics.

So tell me, what does this game do to make it better than diablo3, for you? Because I dont see it 1) there is 0 problem with walking, sounds like a problem with your computer 2) a lot of other animations? like what? have you even seen any higher level skills? no you haven't of course not 3) it has cartoony style graphics on purpose. to me it looks like an ARPG version of WoW, and i enjoy the graphics more than D3 personally. D3 looks like some asian mmorpg game that is f2p imo. 4) complaining about font?
it sounds like you're a person who enjoys games for graphics, and not the actual gameplay itself. if you can't see through that, then go play crysis or something
