Very nice man, very creative. I really enjoyed listening to this music brought back a lot of nostalgic memories, even though it's different it still sounds amazing like the original. I actually like this one better. Nice job!
great. what program used? you had to search for similar sounds and remake the tune or how is this done? i guess its hard, especially the ending. i liked some deep scary sounds more than in the original but otherwise hard to surpass the original's heroic level. here are some differences:
- the volumes are a bit different, the bass drum is remarkably quieter in yours. i guess thats a change on purpose. - i miss some kind of fullness from the main theme with the horn. probably thats the hardest thing to achive in the remake of this soundtrack. in the original, the horn comes in very softly, and then becoming louder, but still pleayed in a soft way, strengthened by background drums and cymbal-like effects, that helps to create a heroic atmosphere. and actually in the original, i can't really hear the first note of the horn theme that you used. - your lyrical themes are a bit louder and i noticed another difference. in the original, the first lyrical theme is brought by an oboe sound, and the second part (played twice) is a flute sound [maybe real flute recorded?] while you used the same sound for both part. - the overall tempo is a bit slower in your version.
nevertheless good job, i feel like playing protoss on a space map!
Hi, I use Vienny Instruments and made it by ear. Its not so hard to hear it and write the parts down in notes/chords. Especialy this track is verry easy and clear but it took a lot of time.
I think I wont do other tracks. The Terran soundtrack is great composing but needs a good band to be played. The Terran music is not verry close to orchestral. And even the Zerg got a lot of metal-ambient stuff.
Maybe other from the Protoss or - as I remember the Terran Track of BW is nice for orchestration.
