Mr. Chae and DaejanG discussed about Next year's GSL plan (a bit sarcastically) during the casting of WCS season 3 finals(in Korean). Definitely, next year's GSL will be different from this year's. Maybe It will be again independent from WCS. And a bit of aggression of his on some other people (or some broadcast companies?)
Below is the contents.
Dajang: What's the plan for GSL next year?
Chae: Next year? It is very bright. We will do as we want next year. We will do as I want.
Daejang: Indeed, it is bright.
Chae: Yes, it is. Because we couldn't do as we wanted this year, yes, we had dissatisfaction. Now, we will do as we want. Be ready.
Daejang: It's a great good news.
Chae: (laughing) An shocking announcement. Gom will do as they want next year!
Daejang: At least we keep on.
Chae: Ofcourse we do.
Daejang: It' would be not appropriate if we someone says "we are quitting" on his own authority .
Chae: So, now, this is my thought. To say harsh, people who don't want to work actively, should better get out of the scene. People who will work hard, who want to work hard, need to get more opportunities, don't they? It's really hard to work with somebody that does not like to do the job. Just talking for mutual profits.
Could you expand on some of the thoughts in this post? Much of what has been translated seems quite vague.. what do they mean by GOM 'doing what they want'? Will they operate independently of WCS? And who do they speak of when they talk about a 'partner concerned with mutual profits'?

Did you read the original post? He's not sure and literally said what you just said.

Actually, what he said is quite vague itself. Korean people are arguing harshly on this. What is definite is that Chae did not like Blizzard's 2013 plan. Also, Most people think that it's a aggression on OGN that they did not show enough tries on SC2 this year that was not like they said early. Others say this is all about some Korean reporters that are extremely criticizing on SC2 who mostly always insists that SC2 has fallen in Korea.
The mutual profit part is like (whoever he was offensive against on this) "if you don't wanna work hard, you'd better quit for both of us because we get more opportunity, and you can do other things not wasting your time for what you don't really want to do."
People who don't want to work actively sounds like OGN, considering how disinterested they seemed doing the last OSL and the S1 Korean finals. If what I heard was right, there was not much TV coverage to speak of. On top of that they kicked most of proleague to SPOTV.
Maybe GOM doing what they want could also mean OGN is out of the picture and next year it will again be just GSL for Korea. Would be really good as GomTV does their thing so well. I wouldn't be shocked if Blizzard wasn't all that impressed with OGN either and would just let it go.
Doesn't matter. It all comes down to how much money Blizzard puts down for the GSL. Where do you think GOMtv got all the money in early days of GSL for those fancy 3D GSL intro, 3D movie screen for the finals, and cute kpop girls? It's obvious that they all came from Blizzard. If Blizzard stops supporting the GSL next year, GOM will move to other games.

Doesn't matter, GSL will do what they want. If GSL wants to be a bunch of retards and piss Blizzard off and make sure that they can't do SC2 tournaments anymore like you're suggesting, then they'll do it.
My opinion is that they are instead going to host some great events and that they are going to be smart and support the rebirth of stability in the Korean SC2 scene.
I personally would love a fully self sustaining GSL to start running during off seasons. Blizzard already said that they are going to clear more of next year's schedule to allow for more independently run tournaments, and that they'll support and cheer for those tournaments to do well. I want to see OGN take WCS, GOM continue GSL/GSTL, and KeSPA continue with ProLeague. Maybe KeSPA would even want to work closely with OGN to see the continuation of the StarLeague series. Anyways, something along these lines would be best imo. People saying no more WCS are rash and not thinking logically imo.
I don't understand the translation at all. I don't care if GSL is with WCS or not, but I do worry if it is not viewership will drop for GOMTV. They have done so much for the SC 2 community, it would be sad to see them left behind.
