We like the game so we get together to play it lol. Most major cities hold a weekly tournament that's pretty friendly for the local scene to get together. People also house smashfests at their house.

As a frequent local tournament entrant in both games since 2004, I honestly like Brawl better, minus the tripping and meta-knight, so I hope that the Melee competitive scene transfers to Smash 4, along with the criminally under-appreciated Brawl scene. SSB4 is looking like it's 90% the speed of Melee and with the floatiness and silky smoothness of Brawl. Probably won't have wavedashing, so I'm sure we'll get some rebel holdouts in Melee, but you can't please everybody...
