13abyKnight Joins Meet Your Makers
by Joeta | 34 minutes ago | 0 comments Germany Meet Your Makers has announced that Denmark Jon "13abyKnight" Anderson has been made captain of the updated MYM squad, to make up for the loss of Denmark Andreas "Cr1t" Franck Nielsen and Denmark Jonathan "unicornxoxo" Arge. The official MYM Twitch channel aired an interview with 13abyKnight on the 29th, as Poland Max "MKI" Kieturakis asked what 13abyKnight's plans were, what fueled his shift from Starcraft 2 to Dota 2, his team's current practice shcedule, and what their goals are.
Denmark 13abyKnight said the switch to Dota was because he wasn't having as much fun as he wanted to, blaming it on the balance changes Blizzard implemented when they released Wings of Liberty and the Heart of the Swarm. Since those changes he began to play Dota more and more, and his switch to proffessional Dota made more and more sense.
Germany MYM's current roster consits of Denmark 13abyKnight, Denmark Christopher "Ryze" Winther, Denmark Marcus "Ace" Hoelgaard, and an unannounced fourth player. The squad is still searching for a fifth player to round out the team. For now, there have been no as to what Denmark Sylvester "Link" Hoelgaard will be doing as he has not announced whether he will stay or leave the team.

hopefully he can make MYM the team it use to be :D

What is his history with DotA? Back when I followed SC2 I knew he had played DotA (semi?) professionally at some point but never learned the details.

i hope he grabs a hold quickly and shows us that he still got the talent inside and some amzing solo mid plays. although i could imagine him as a #1 position aswell. unfortunatly the team he is in will not be strong. but i have no doubt that if he shines again he will be picked up by better teams sooner than many people would expect.

Gogo recruit Black^ as well

MYM is staining and tarnishing its legacy even further. it's reminding me of when jordan came back to play for the wizards.
good luck to you, but i don't see even 1% of success with MYM having ryze or ace still on their teams.

ahnn, i don't know
wasn't cr1t and unicorn the best mym players?
also, seeing they are probably means a even weaker team
anyways, gl babyknight, i hope that everything works out for him

soooo babyknight couldn't adjust to sc2 balance changes so it was not as fun?
|
Didn't he shit all over the Dota community when he left for SC2? Anyway best of luck too MYM, but BabyKnight definitely not as good as unicorn or crit were (from what I've seen spectating, maybe in a coordinated group he shines), room to grow though.

I don't want to start a flamewar here, but isn't the Starcraft scene on a major decline?

Its quite stale/slowly declining, but theres no reason to believe it wont be around for several years to come. Its just not on the level of LoL/Dota, but then again no other game is.

Computer games don't have the longevity of "normal" sports, so if you want to be a professional player you might have to switch at some point. People should get used to the idea and I don't really see a problem with it. Athletes switch between related disciplines all the time. Why should it be any different in E-Sports?

I think this is great news for Babyknight to get a team quick. Sure we don´t know the details or the future plans but back in the days he was sooo good at old dota. I would say it´s not that strange that he swapped game since he don´t enjoy SC2 anymore. Nothing more than that. Why bother playing a game that you don´t enjoy?

I still remember how this guy was boasting about how he would have won The International. I'd be surprised if he even makes top 4 of qualifiers.

Gratz to babyknight, bring on Ti7.

he will need a lot of play time to get back into the game to actually be a top top player though

Incredibly nice guy I hope it works out for him.
