After a day of 3-0 blowouts, and a close 3-2 win by Rdu over Alchemixt, day two of Heroes of Cards set up a series of excellent matches. The day start in the opposite fashion as day one with a close 3-2 series between Amaz and Massan. In the end, Massan was able to clinch the series with back to back wins with Shaman over Amaz's Druid and Warlock. The second semifinal was more in line with day one, however, as Rdu swept Trump 3-0 with Druid and denied the TSM mirror in the finals.
The third place match set up a rematch between Amaz and Trump from the HyperX Invitational last weekend. Unfortunately for Amaz, this rematch ended 3-1 in Trump's favor. Amaz was able to take game one in a Warlock mirror but Trump battled back with Warrior and swept the match.
The finals began with Rdu on Shaman and Massan playing Druid. Game one ended in in Rdu's favor but a Hunter counter pick by Massan quickly evened the series at 1-1. Rogue was up next for Rdu. From there, Rdu was able to win against both the Hunter and Massan's Warrior to put the series on match point. Massan took Shaman as his last chance deck and was able to take the round. A comeback was not in the cards, however, as Rdu took game six -- and the series -- with Warlock.
The other important note on this tournament was that it was streamed on Hitbox TV. The new platform showed that it still had room for improvement as there were audio/video sync issues and blank screens whenever the player perspective changed. There were also significant delays on day one. Part of this may be attributed to Hitbox's attempt to host a live event as their first undertaking, but some production areas could have been improved. The final, and most comic, issue was that the chat was full of fake accounts as viewers posed as various pros.

Nice showing by RDU this week. Pity Amaz didn't make it farther, but games were good

I like the mention of how hilarious chat was at the end.

You guys should do a Hearthstone ranking of players like Teamliquid used to do in Brood War. That would be interesting to follow.

Congrats to RDU, he performed well again and just seemed the best prepared overall too. His tournament record has just been fantastic, though keeping in mind the sample size.
Great for Massan to show some results as well, I believe this is his first major final. Together with his qualifying for the next Korea v China OGN (I believe he placed 6th in the qualifiers), not a bad fortnight all round.
I don't envy Amaz and Massan having to play into the wee hours of the morning for these NA time-centric tournaments, they probably stayed up until 5-6 am.

I don't think there have been enough open tournaments, not to mention inter-regional ones, to do a fair ranking. With the limited info we have, there's only enough to do a pseudo-Top 2, and that's just one big argument.

Coming back from vacation and all I read is "RDU won ....". Are the VODs worth watching?

for a game with lot of rng, the results from RDU have been extremely consistent

We could still do one but it would be clear that it is difficult to determine the best.
Glad to see RDU just trucking on. He could have been down about what happened at Dreamhack, but it hasn't kept him back at all. Constantly improving and playing and winning tournaments.
