Classic probably stays in the game had that not been scouted, And i can only guess that soO knew to do that so quickly because they were team mates for so long and classic probably tends to take hidden expos when he gets behind. Well done. Cactus Valley reminds me of Frost which is a huge map and I died to hidden bases on that map like a thousand times. verecunda said above that this is soO's habit on big map so that makes sense. Also, he might do that so scout for hidden pylon that is used to warp in to harass while he moved out. Well-done indeed. I'm happy that soO advanced!
I was wondering when he took it why he took it there. Why not just take it at the southwest main instead of in the bottom middle like that? It wouldn't have been spotted.

Innovation too good, and soO played so well, upsets Dark, wow!!!!! also sick ex-SKT vs ex-KT matches in the quarter finals

Very sad for Classic. I think almost everybody agree that he really showed some special PvZ tricks and nice ideas yesterday. I really don't think soO has the energy and the top form of his best period in order to beat TY. Also he is a classical ZvPand ZvZ player, I don't remember any successful games against top terrans.
Looks like a TvT final with TY and Bogus, but we shall see. After Ro16, every player becomes different with different preparations and approach. I really hope for TY to get his first GSL title.

Ah who am I kidding, this site already has an unhealthy obsession with K-pop idol culture. -_-

Not creepy so much as misguided. Koreans are people like everyone else. Imagining people on the other side of the world from you as fundamentally different just because they are exotic/fascinating to you is just (mostly) harmless dreaming.

Yes, racist obsession of white Americans.
I wonder what happened to KwarK...

Sorry, being fetishized is most definitely creepy.

Sorry, being fetishized is most definitely creepy.
But it's mostly born of ignorance. Isn't that something that should evoke pity instead of disgust? Like Orientalism in general.
|
im sure its reasonable to be disgusted by the fetishization of foreign cultures
scholars would say its our duty to be disgusted by it, others would just say gyuri is hot and leave it at that. i dont typically pity a guy who knows whta he likes, but the world is full of beautiful , interesting women so ultimately hes just doin himself dirty. if he was in KR he might fetishize US girls which is very common with my friends in mexico. enjoying ur posts pvsnp

Although in general people tend to seek genetically similar (but not too similar) mates, there is research showing that some people have a genetic inclination to seek people who are sufficiently different from themselves to guarantee a lack of overlap in MHCs (major histocompatibility complexes) and that is just the tip of the iceberg. "Opposites attract," white guy vs. Asian girl, can have a genetic component to it. In layman terms, this makes sense because pursuing genetic diversity in mate and therefore offspring greatly decreases the chance for many recessive traits to become pronounced.
I'm not denying that weebs and foreign k-pop fans might have an unhealthy obsession with another culture/race, just that science justifies it for certain cases. Just as people can be born gay, others can be born pre-programmed to seek an abnormal drive to seek genetic diversity in mates.

Seriously guys there are plenty of places to shame someone for who/what they are attracted to, but not here.
These were the sickest matches I have seen in a while and they deserve to be discussed! I recall Arty saying he had never seen the build Classic started out on against Dark, so even though Dark scouted it he still lost. Can anyone talk about how that strategy worked and was different? Like what Dark was expecting when he scouted?

Would you allow it if we talked about how attracted we are to Korean SC2 players?

the early robotics classic used is really just uncommon. and his push was extremely delayed (Newkirk city) compared to the typical builds that use robotics. they usually do not have a third base so early, and they usually dont wait for like 4-5 immortals to push
i think when dark scouted his units/production he thought "fuck hes about to immortal push me, because i scouted this build hes doing, and thats what people typically do when you discover they have been chronoing immortals all early game instead of upgrading and buying splash/air units"
what clasic was thinking, "dark is going to get overlord speed and see this push and over prepare while i take my third. he will assume i am going to push immediately, because when this is scouted it can be countered by spire or x strategy. i will just wait for archon tech and go kill him, becuase he knows that i know that there is an expiration date on this strategy, and because i know that that he knows that i know that there is an expiration date on this strategy, i will make an educated bet and predict that he will make units and not a spire, fearing the immediate push and as a result, ultimately die to just "more" of the same stuff ive been making all game"
thats as best i can describe it, and spire might not be the best choice. but if dark played that game again, he would have tried to counter it much differently me thinks
ro32 and ro16 have had an immense amount of metagaming in them, really weird builds from all the races tbh

Classic played so well but it seems soO really understands Classic's playstyle.

Classic got so close. Using the voidray to take the queen agro while his oracles killed drones was super impressive. He jumped the gun and went allin on cactus valley instead of transitioning into templar tech, and that is why he lost.
