For our first pre-match interview we spoke to the player playing as Boxer, the winner of the last Bacchus Offgamenet Starleague back in 2015 about his thoughts.
Boxer: Feels like dark days of Starcraft have passed. Feels like everything backs on track!
Q. How does it feel participating in a FeSPA event again? A. It has been always a huge pleasure to participate in Pro Leagues and other FeSPA related events. Even though the present competition takes the form of simple show match series, it provides opportunity to satisfy our fans with variety of sophisticated gameplays. Which is most important nowadays, especially during the rebirth of Brood War in Korea. Feels like dark days of Starcraft have passed. Feels like everything backs on track!
Q. You won the last BOSL, does that give you any added pressure? A. Not at all, especially knowing that these are show match games, my tournament life isn't on the line when playing the games and I'm not playing with the weight of the team behind me. I just want to focus on playing good games, which will be worth watching it during stream. The result doesn't really matter, so if I lose in epic games, I won't be disappointed. Other participants seem very solid, so there may be plenty of opportunities for good in-game actions.
Q. Any thoughts about your teammate Hyuk? A. Very confusing situation, since there was both Hyuk and NoTouch in our team during STPL, along with GoRush, and all of them had different IDs during consecutive events. So in fact I cannot remember anything particular about Hyuk/NoTouch. All three of them were good enough to beat me, with more or less luck. All of them also had in some part similar gamestyle, since they trained a lot together and shared game knowledge about zerg gameplays.
Q. How's your vs Zerg? A. Not as good as in the past, since there has been lately significant improvement in zerg players game style, which seems to work very effectively against my own TvZ style. However, I still have some aces up my sleeve, waiting for good opportunity to emerge. There is a chance, I my adapt some oldschool strategies into my gameplay, just to suprise my opponent. But which ones exactly is a secret :-)
Q. Any interest in a rebirth of the STPL? A. There is no other suitable answer, than Yes. The way those events were presented to viewers, gave one of most interesting viewer experiences in my opinion. Having some spare time, there is no reason I would not like to be part of it, providing games will be casted as one of competitors.

For our second showmatch pre-game interview we spoke to Pusan, a newcomer to FeSPA events!
Pusan: I will be practicing very hard in the coming weeks to prepare myself for Jaedong.
Q. It's your first appearance in a FeSPA tournament. A. I think that this league format is very interesting. I will be practicing hard for this league. I hope I can show my best play for my fans.
Q. So, Pusan? A. Pusan has been my nick for many years. It is because I want to represent the local scene which made me into the player I am. Pusan has a proud Brood War scene.
Q. Jaedong is your opponent, how's your vs Z? A. I have been very rusty as of late. I help my dongsengs improve more than I play myself, so I cannot say that I am in my best form. But I will be practicing very hard in the coming weeks to prepare myself for Jaedong. His Z is very strong and I hope I can show my best form for my fans. Thank you for supporting me for this many years.
Q. Any thoughts on the map pool? A. The map pool is very interesting. I do not think that it favors Protoss against Zerg, because both Fortress and Judgment day have midground main which makes Zergling runby easier and defense against harass easier for Zerg to defend against. Matchpoint would be problematic for PvT but is okay for PvZ, probably the only map that favors P here. Aztec being 3 player map will normally benefit Zerg but is more or less ok. Circuit Breaker I feel is harder for Protoss because of wide open space and many paths to bases but is a great map. Overall I am happy with the pool and hope to please my fans who will be cheering for me.
Q. If the BOSL/STPL came back fully, would you be interested in playing? A. Yes, I think that I need more pressure to perform at my best, and joining a league that is longer would add motivation to my practice schedule. I have to improve to take care of my dongsengs and help them improve as well. Please cheer for me in this series!

Its good to see both SC BW and SC2 having a big variety of tournemtns in 2017 and people Like boxer in SC Bw or Golden in sc2 coming back. I mean TY earned more then Byun in complete 2016 in 2 months of 2017. And Byuns 300k where the highest yearly earning in the history of sc 2. Both games are the best competetiv games out there. So fun to watch. Hope there will be some foreigners coming to sc bw again. In sc2 they are allready really competitive like Showtime Snute Neeb or Seral

For our third pre-showmatch interview we decided to speak to EffOrt who is making his debut in FeSPA events!
Q. How do you feel about the FeSPA events? A. I feel like these type of leagues are a great way to stimulate players into playing. Even though rationally it doesn't make a lot of sense, pretending to be one of your idols is very exciting. Maybe it's akin to children dressing up as their favourite superhero?
Q. Your reasons for picking EffOrt? A. I think EffOrt is currently the best zerg in the world. I also really love his playstyle, aggressive but not unnecessarily so. Effort beating the unstoppable Flash in the korean air OSL 2010 after being down 0-2 is a tale for the history books, and one I will gladly tell to someone else's grandchildren.
Q. Your first opponent is a Protoss. A. ZvP has been my weakest matchup for as long as I've been playing brood war, but recently a certain switch has flipped in my mind. I've noticed I've been getting more successful at beating protoss.
Q. Your thoughts on the map pool? A. I'm not very familiar with Fortress, Neo Aztec and Judgement day. Match point and circuit breaker however are fun maps. In the past I've had issues with with establishing a 4th gas base on Match point. I will have to prepare well, especially since my opponent the dreamer likes to switch things up a lot.
Q. If the BOSL/STPL came back fully, would you be interested in playing? A. Yes

For our fourth pre-showmatch interview we decided to speak to Nal_rA who returns to FeSPA events, just this time with a different TL member at the helm!
Nal_rA: I still get the urge to perform in front of many cheering fans and show good games!
Q, So, it's your first foray into FeSPA events. A. Hello, I feel great being able to participate in a televised BW match again, even though I am a professional BJ now, I still get the urge to perform in front of many cheering fans and show good games!
Q. You've decided to participate as Nal_rA. A. Previously a fan of mine used the ID Nal_rA on fish server, but ive asked them to give it back. I am grateful I have many fans still
Q. EffOrt will be a formidable opponent. A. Historically, vs Z has been my weakest matchup, and EffOrt is still a very active strong BW player..however I have been secretly practicing on my new smurf, 10dronegg! He will never suspect its me and will be unprepared for my new skill haha, I will have twice as many drones now :D
Q. Any thoughts on the map pool? A. This map pool looks rigged for EffOrt to win! Wtf man? Every map Z > P, I can see that you are clearly an antifan of the legendary Kang Min. Sorry to hear this news, I hope I can show some good games despite the map pool and change your mind.
Q. Are you interested in participating in future FeSPA events? A. Yes, I have won championships before and I feel the urge to win again! Nal_rA will continue to compete if my busy BJ schedule allows it
I've not heard back from more than one person talking about availiability. Can I take this as confirmation that you can all play on the specified date?

For our fifth interview we spoke to the player playing as Jaedong who is debuting (at least the TL community member) in FeSPA events!
Jaedong: Playing and practicing with team mates in tournaments is really fun
Q. This is your debut performance. A. Yes, this would be my first time playing in the STPL. I really like the idea of being able to play as one of your favorite progamers. I also like the anonymity, not knowing who is who makes things more interesting! I'm thrilled to participate in the league. Thanks for organizing this!
Q. You've decided to participate as Jaedong. A. I've always liked Jaedong. It was fun watching him play in tournaments because he was such a dominating player. I really like his playstyle, he plays so aggressive and makes it work because of his incredible micro, mechanics and decision making. He is handsome and it will be very fun playing as Jaedong!
Q. You're going to be playing against Pusan, how's your vs P lately? A. I have been pretty busy lately so I haven't been playing much BW. I am not confident in my ZvP or any other match up at the moment. I will be practicing ZvP for my upcoming match against Pusan. I hope the both of us play well and have exciting games for the viewers.
Q. Any thoughts on the map pool? A. Match point, Neo Aztec and Circuit Breaker are maps that I am familiar with. I do not play on them too often but I like those maps. I will need to practice on Fortress SE and Judgement Day because I have never played on them before.
Q. If the BOSL/STPL came back fully, would you be interested in playing? A. I have been quite busy this year so I am not sure if I will have enough time to practice and play regularly. If many people sign up then it would definitely spark my interest to participate and find time to play. Playing and practicing with team mates in tournaments is really fun and I hope many people will be interested if BOSL/STPL came back!

Thanks for all the hard work in putting all this together. LOVE IT

For our sixth interview we interviewed SKT_T1.FanTaSy a veteran in FeSPA events.
FanTaSy: You could even call this the Battle of the Kongs.
Q. You're back again competing in another FeSPA event. A. It's great to be back, it's been a few years now and while I let myself get a little out of practice, I've been practicing hard in preperation for my showmatch.
Q. Your first opponent is Stork. A. Yes and if I'm honest I couldn't be happier. This is the first time we've met in FeSPA events, but we have quite the rich history. We're both kongs and we've both came second in more OSLs than we've won, but that's not to forget that I managed to take my first and only official OSL finals due to an epic Bo5 series with him. You could even call this the battle of the Kongs. Truth be told, outside of the game we're quite close. He's promised to take me out for BBQ if he wins. Whilst I love the idea, I'm going to be working hard to play good games for my fans and be the one to treat him. (laughs)
Q. Any thoughts on the maps? A. I've always been one to train and practice on as many maps as possible. While I understand Fighting Spirit is still very popular on Fish and iCCUP, I see much more benefit in learning as many maps as I can. I hope that I can use this extra knowledge to benefit me going into the battle. I have a few tricks up my sleeve prepared to try and throw Stork off. I can't give away too much information for now, but hopefully I'll be able to explain my build choices in the winners interview!
Q. A few of your teammates are also back to participate. A. Yes, when I noticed that BoxeR-hyeong would be back to participate after his amazing showing in the BOSL I was very excited. It's also very nice to see Hyuk-hyeong return as well. I've missed playing and practicing with them both, so I can't wait to see what they bring to the table.
Q. Any messages to your fans? A. Thank you for supporting me all this time. I hope I can show you the real Jung-laden in this showmatch and if the STPL, BOSL or MSL actually return then I'll be participating to show good games to your all. Please continue to support me and look forward to the upcoming games with Stork-hyeong!

For our seventh interview we interviewed the player playing as Stork making (the players) debut in FeSPA events! Seems his interview took a bit of a different course to FanTaSy's!
Stork: just another opportunity to dominate the BW scene.
Q. This is your debut match in FeSPA. A. Well after all the other progamers ran away to SC2 I had no choice but to join them. But, now that BW has risen out of the ashes like a Phoenix, I am back and streaming on Afreeca regularly, smashing the Bisu's, Flashes, and Jaedong's of the world...as usual. Oh wait, I didn't answer the question. Yea the leagues are cool; just another opportunity to dominate the BW scene.
Q. The Samsung[KHAN] dragon. Do you feel any pressure to live up to his namesake? A. I am Stork. The greatest Protoss player ever. I will live up to my own hype because only I can.
Q. Your matchup is going to be against FanTaSy. A. This guy Fantasy is good....at making vultures. That's about it. I will do my best to crush him. If he holds up his end of the bargain, maybe we can have some good games.
Q. How is your vs T? A. I am known for PvT, regularly smashing people like Flash. But I'm amazingly good at all matchup's so it doesn't matter.
Q. Any thoughts on the map pool? A. FS should be the only map that's ever played...everyone who thinks otherwise is simply wrong. This map pool was specifically designed to throw a wrench in my plans. But nothing can stop the Dinosaur Protoss!
Q.If the BOSL/STPL came back fully, would you be interested in playing? A. Any opportunity to defeat and humiliate my fellow "pros" is a great opportunity for me that I will embrace. Thank you to all my millions of fans. Especially the ones that know that not only am I the best Protoss player ever, but I am also the best looking (kill yourself, Bisu). STORK FIGHTING~

Is there a channel we can meet up? Maybe channel STPL? I couldn't find a note of how we can contact our opponents. I understand our names are something along the lines of ClanTag_Player name but I'm sure some of those were already taken and we had to improvise some :D

Finally for the Week 1 showmatch series we interviewed veteran FeSPA player Hyuk!
Hyuk: I at the very least hope to show some entertaining games
Q. How are you feeling? A. I have really low expectations for myself and am not particularly hungry for the wins, but I at the very least hope to show some entertaining games. Of course, I'll need to demonstrate my signature hyuk where I throw a huge lead.
Q. You were on SKT during the last STPL. A. SKT was pretty chill. Although I spent most of my days trapped in a dark room with only the haunting faint glow of the light from my monitor to keep me company.
Q. You played with Boxer in the last STPL. A. His micro was as good as Pokju's.
Q. How's your vs Terran? A. I've been feeling unconfident, +1 5 rax op as hell.
Q. If the STPL/BOSL came back, would you be interesting in playing in it? A. Yes, absolutely!
In other news I have two sets of replays, one set of games have been arranged for tomorrow and just waiting for the final set! GGs everyone. To everyone who signed up after, you'll be up next week.
